If you remove the float and then remove the arm - it pushes in and down to remove - you will find a small round seal in the plastic that presses on the inlet when the float comes to the top. Carefully remove it and add a smear of Vaseline all over and pop it back in upside down. You need a new one but turning it over should give the same result.
