Looking at my old order, I bought "Vortex Optics Precision Matched Rings 30mm - Height 1.26 inches - Picatinny Mount " from Amazon and they work great for me. They're not cheap though, but neither was the scope. **Q: Does the pst1607 1-6x25 come with a screw in theow lever?** A: No. The focus throw lever is a separate purchase under "Vortex Optics Riflescope Switchview Throw Levers." The correct lever can be selected by Vortex scope type. It is not a screw in type, but tightens around the barrel of the rotating focus dial. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Razor HD Baby Brother In Nearly Every Way, Except The Price! *by on Reviewed in the United States August 16, 2025* This is literally the Razor HD minus Japanese made glass and Japanese build. So meaning, it's the baby brother that has the next best thing. Philippine glass with Philippine build. Why should you buy it over others in the same price category? Simple... Quality to price performance. This things functions similar to the Razor HD. Great capped turrets with tactile clicks. Diopter works very well but the magnification lever is a bit stiff even after years of use. Is this a bad thing? No. Just put a throw lever on it and done. Very easy to adjust everything.Aside from the build and glass quality compared to a Razor HD, this is a bigger or should I say longer optic. But even so, it still goes well on a 14.5 and up AR Recce build.Speaking of clarity, again, the glass is Philippines made glass. If you're not familiar, Philippines made glass is mid to high end tier. With Japan and Germany being the top tier. So you're getting great glass in this optic.Lastly, what about the illumination? Well, it's absolutely day light bright. With it on at 1 power, this things acts nearly like a red dot. I said nearly because you still have a bit of parallax and scope shadow even at 1x. But in all honesty, if you set it up correctly, it can be used at 1x like a red dot. This is how I have this setup in my Recce build on a Midwest Industries QD mount.Speaking of mount, this thing holds zero even after multiple times of mounting and dismounting on a rifle. Even dropped it a couple of times by accident and it held zero. Although it is now scratched up, but I like my scopes having battle scars. But no issues with the scopes functionality.Overall, this LPVO will go down in history of LPVOs as "the sweet spot" when it comes to price to performance. If you want some Razor HD quality but don't want to pay Razor HD price, this is the closest thing. Just in case you're wondering, I own a Razor HD as well, just not at 1-6x. Owning the Razor HD makes me wonder why I even forked out more money for it when this thing is tried and true as well. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great LPVO *by on Reviewed in the United States April 29, 2021* Very good eye relief and easy to use like a regular red dot when set to 1X magnification. Downside is that you may need to change butt stock or add a riser to get a perfect viewing angle. However, this is true for any rifle scope which is why the precision butt stocks have adjustable cheek welds. Red dot feature works great and here's a good thing for those of us with astigmatism. The smearing is not that bad especially at lower illumination levels. Best part is you can still clearly see the reticle (standard cross pattern) so you know exactly where the middle of the red dot is. Unless you need milliseconds faster close range target acquisition, my opinion is that LPVO is the best option if you also want something with moderate magnification. Do you still need backup iron sights? Yes, but only if you plan to use this in very cold/wet weather where it's difficult to keep the glass clean. The reticle is permanent so still visible without battery. You just lose red dot in case of dead battery or electronics failure. Lastly, out of box my scope had perfect windage so I only needed to set elevation to complete sight. Decided to go with Aero Precision 1 inch offset mount and no issues at all. Overall I think this has the best price performance compared to the lower and upper priced models from Vortex. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great optic below $600 *by on Reviewed in the United States July 19, 2021* I’ve had a Razor 1-6 and can put this against it. It’s not a Razor, let’s get that out of the way but it’s like 80% of the way there. Mine is very clear, edge to edge. It is heavy but I guess that means it’s beefy inside. I do need to get a throw lever as it’s as tight to adjust as my Razor. Build quality feels up there with the razor. Clicks and caps are very nice and solid. Very bright reticle. I would say this is an excellent 1-6x. I wish trijicon had a 1-6 in this price range, I have their 1-4 and that is a great optic as well.I also have the 1-6 and 1-8 StrikeEagles. This definitely has better glass and those you don’t have the clarity at the edges and the eye relief isn’t as forgiving. So you get what you pay for. ## Frequently Bought Together - Vortex Optics Viper PST Gen II Second Focal Plane Riflescopes - Vortex Optics Pro Extended Viper Cantilever Riflescopes Mounts - Vortex Optics Riflescope Switchview Throw Levers --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.no/products/40428770-vortex-optics-viper-pst-gen-ii-second-focal-plane-riflescopes](https://www.desertcart.no/products/40428770-vortex-optics-viper-pst-gen-ii-second-focal-plane-riflescopes) --- *Product available on Desertcart Norway* *Store origin: NO* *Last updated: 2026-10-08*
