Review: Puuuuuurfecttttlllyy MEOW APproved!!! - So I was looking for a sturdy cat tree and something that is worth buying and totally get your moneys worth Wow!!! mEOW ! From my 3 cats point of view . They absolutely Adddore this . I got to say , first after reading several reviews , I was very interested in the hype , but boy are they spot on . This cat tree is AmAZing!!!!! I splurged and got the bigger one because I do have 3 cats of varying sizes and they do like their privacy at times so this cat tree offers all of that and more; from scratch posts ( sisal posts), a high perch to the lounging hammocks , a wooded hut and secluded hanging grey bassinet which has open windows and a huge opening at the top that acts as skylight ( it’s not really a skylight , haha),and hanging toys. My Bombay loves jumping from the high perch into the hanging grey bassinet. I love how you can modify it or add to it , if the perch is too high you can lower it down and just put one of the sisal posts in instead of two , two are for those who know their cats are super coordinated , I have a senior cat so I took one out to lower it so she doesn’t slip. This cat tree is amazing -like I said there is so much you can do if you want to add your personal touch to it or leave it alone because it is beautiful the way it comes . The material is well made, it’s soft , no funny smells, the wood is strong and smooth, the sisal posts are well constructed , no staples in the wrong place to hurt your feline friends, and it’s ready to use, no airing out, it’s cat friendly. I gotta say this is one of my best purchases this year ,money well spent , it was very easy to put together, it came in one box, no excess packaging, instructions, *the screws were even inside a white bag with a red tie adhered to the box so it did not get lost , this was pretty easy , one person could put this together -I am on the tall side so if you are on the shorter side you may want to get a step stool to help with the last part or build the top then fasten it after or ask a friend to help. ***Regarding Building this : This is fairly simple , but READ THE INSTRUCTIONS , then Oraganize and follow them and it will go smoothly - There are a few tricks with a couple things 1) the first part w the 3 holes - it was a little confusing , it makes the letter L on a slant so the two holes line up and the one hole you do not use , it depends on how wide you want the cat tree to be but i really looked at the picture to guide you for that part . 2) Make sure to get each section together out with the screws etc so you have what you need and you know exactly where you want to put the piece of wood etc because once you start building it goes fast. 3) Tricky: The wooden hut - The wooden hut is a little hard if you don’t start with the bottom middle screw first then work your way from bottom sides the place top on firmly be careful because the slats pop out if you don’t hold tight together, then put w sisal post and screw etc . Put on the fabric stuff last so it doesn’t get in way when you are assembling - also keep cats from jumping on it while building. lol. Everything else is easy peasy. I added some stuff to the wood so my cats didn’t slip off top (sisal adhesive pads) and some thicker Velcro to the top perch to hold the top material down as well as I folded the material down and around the perch so it grabbed the perch ; initially when my cat jumped up onto the perch the material flew off taking my cat along with the material off the perch sending them flying toward the ground this caused me to modify and add thicker Velcro and fold the material around the perch . No longer an issue.So be careful with that . But like I said if you roll it down it works great. Even tho I did these minor adjustments on this product I still think that this cat tree is the BEST for the amount of sisal, posts, toys,climbing ,lounging areas, activities and space on it has for my 3 cats. As well as , I must say THIS CAT TREE TRUMPS ALL of them out there for the sturdiness of it and the for the quality alone you cannot get a better price for this cat tree of this size and/or quality of product with the amount of goodies it comes with. This is well worth the money so far. Meow approved too. I will do an update in a month or so but for now I am extremely satisfied and so are my 3 cats. I will submit my photos at a later date. Review: Washable! - Washable! That's what I love! Everything said about this cat tree is true. It's sturdy, built to last, easy to assemble, looks great, cats love it. But the best to me is every cushion and pad can be machine washed. I have 4 large male cats. Needless to say, lots of fur in the house. I have never had a cat tree that can remove all the cat hair, but with this one you can. The cat tree (wood part) can also easily be washed down, even with the velcro. Other companies should understand cat trees need to be made like this one...no carpet...every cushion and pad washable. Love it!

**Q: Does this come with something to anchor it to the wall?**
A: The Petsite 78" tall cat tree does not anchor to the wall, though it is very stable.  My 13 pound and 10 pound cats use all the platforms (at the same time) and I see no shaking of it when they are on it.

**Q: Does anyone's cat have trouble reaching the highest, top perch (has to step on the hammock first, which doesn't allow for solid footing)?**
A: I have both large and small adult cats.  Both use the hammock to get to the top perch without difficulty and with ease but it's nearly impossible for them to use the posts to get to the top perch.  The cat tree is made from wood and so far has outlasted others that I purchased.  Bottom line it's well worth the money and easy to assemble.  Hope this helps.

**Q: Are the posts made of wood or cardboard tubing?**
A: Wood. This product is of high durable, quality materials throughout.

**Q: Can you put the beds and pads in the dryer?**
A: Yes. I have washed and dried on the medium heat setting with no problem.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ PURRfect for BIG HONKIN CHONKERS — IF you do one simple upgrade

If you have big cats, you know the struggle to find a quality cat tree that can hold up to the wear and tear of toddler-sized creatures chasing each other up and down it with wild abandon. This cat tree is perfect for truly LARGE cats in the 20 lb. range, with ONE minor DIY upgrade that I’ll explain at the end of this review. So, here goes: ————— We have 4 cats, and 3 of them are BIG. And when I say BIG, I mean BIG. Two of them are giant part Maine Coon fluff monsters; each weigh close about 20 lbs while still being healthy and slim — it’s just that they’re like 3-4 feet long from nose to tail. Another (see last pic) has a normal sized frame, but is just plain fat. (She’s on a diet, but it doesn’t seem to be working for her. It’s an ongoing issue; we are working with the vet on it.) Anyway, after little miss Chonker destroyed her second cat tree in as many years (again, see last pic — in addition to easily removing all of the sisal rope with her claws within weeks of purchase, she loved the cuddle cup so much that she gradually bent the metal frame with her heft until it snapped, and then she still tried to sit in it 😹), I decided we needed to get away from cheap cat trees made for normal house cats and embrace the fact that our giant weirdos need something more substantial. If you’ve ever shopped for cat trees aimed at larger breeds, you know that there are only a few small companies specializing in climbers for Maine Coon-sized kitties. They are incredibly costly, almost always sold out, and the waiting lists are long. So I decided to give this cat tree a try because 1. It was less than $300 and available now. 2. The listing photos featured ACTUALLY large cats weighing over 20 lbs. 3. The scratching post supports appeared to be 2-3x as thick as competing models. 4. The wooden cuddle cup platform looked much sturdier than the metal basketball hoop style ones 5. It has enough platforms and cubbies for all 4 of our cats with room to spare. When it arrived, I had my son put it together because he’s 6’4” and this thing is HUGE, even taller than he is. I can’t even comfortably reach a cat sitting on the top platform and I’m 5’7”. (It is a MUCH more prominent feature in my living room than I was expecting, but honestly, this is the cats’ house anyway; they just allow us to live here and pay the bills as their servants. Fellow cat people will understand.) We marveled at the thickness of the supports and the well-constructed platforms. The cats loved it and tried to settle in on it before it was even all the way put together, so my son had to keep shooing them away. When it was all constructed, they took to it with great enthusiasm and have been jockeying for the “best” spot every day since — which is once again the cuddle cup. All was well for about a week, until we noticed the layered wooden platform holding the cuddle cup was — NOOOOOO!!!! You guessed it — starting to bend. Not a lot, just a little, but it was clear to us that we needed to reinforce it sooner rather than later. (My estimate based on unscientific testing with household objects is that bending will occur with any cat over 15 lbs.) So here is what we did to shore it up: Under two of the wooden platforms, there are small D-ring anchors screwed in for suspending puffy cat toys. As you can see in the photos, these toys do not last long at our house — Stellar, the fluffy tuxedo in the pics, had them both chewed off within 36 hours. But they gave me an idea. I went to the local home improvement store and picked up a kit meant for hanging heavy mirrors. It had everything I needed and then some, but you can buy the components you need individually, as well. What you need: A drill A phillips-head drill bit A very small drill bit for making the pilot holes - it needs to be smaller in width than whatever size screw you use 2 metal D-ring anchors 4 wood screws of the proper size for your D-ring anchors (buying a mirror hanging kit simplifies this tremendously because the sizes have been chosen for you) Picture hanging wire of the appropriate weight tolerance for your cats (the mirror hanging kit came with wire that can support 50 lbs.) What you want to do is attach a sturdy metal D-ring anchor to the underside of the top platform, as close to the support post as possible (it’s easiest to remove the top platform for this part — you will need to drill two tiny pilot holes for the screws and it’s much easier to access without the post in your way). You want the D part of the anchor to point directly toward the furthest edge of the cuddle cup support platform. Then attach a D-ring anchor to the top side of the cuddle cup at the outside edge, with the D pointing straight toward the center post. After that, you just have to run the picture hanging wire between the two D-rings, pull it taut, tie it off and secure it at both ends (there are tutorials on YouTube to show you the proper way to tie it off; it’s easy to do, but there’s really no way to explain the process without visuals), and turn the cuddle cup platform into a suspension bridge. The trickiest part here is keeping the line taut while tying the knots — an extra set of hands make this easier; I once again enlisted my son to help. As you can see from the photos, our solution seems to be a success. The cuddle cup no longer bends under their weight, the wire is barely visible from a few feet away (making this a more aesthetically attractive solution than some other reinforcements we considered), and the cats don’t seem to mind the presence of the wire. I will update if our solution fails or we upgrade the cat tree further, but for now, we are very happy to have a cat tree worthy of our giant fluffy monsters that should serve them well for years to come.
