Review: OEM Quality You Can Trust - I always stick with OEM parts when it comes to maintaining my truck, and the Motorcraft FD-4616 fuel filter is a perfect example of why. This filter fits my 6.0 Powerstroke perfectly and performs exactly as expected. Installation was straightforward, and everything lined up just right — no leaks, no hassle. What I like most is the peace of mind knowing I’m using a filter designed specifically for my engine. It keeps fuel flow smooth and clean, which is essential for these high-pressure systems. I replace mine every 15K miles, and this filter has never let me down. If you own a Ford diesel, don’t mess around with off-brand filters. Spend the extra few bucks and get the real deal — your engine will thank you.
Review: Tips and Tricks - Use a short Wall 35-36MM socket for bottom filter, 6 MM Allen wrench for water separator, and 24MM or 1/2" Weather Drive. loosen fuel cap to relieve any pressure, Put oil pan under lower filter to catch water and fuel. Drain water separator first tighten back up snug, then remove frame filter (shallow socket works best). Put the new filter in with air bleeder hole to the top facing more to the frame then slightly twist it clockwise to lock it in. Put new oring on the cap then screw it on the filter and tighten to 18.5 ft lbs. Secondary (Small filter) use 1/2" drive wratchet, 24mm, or 15/16" socket to remove. Replace oring, filter, then reinstall to 10.3 ft lbs or 14NM. Turn key on for 30 seconds 4-6 times to purge air and pump fuel. Fire it up! I replace mine @10k intervals and primary comes out still useable. I cut the water separator from the filter to inspect it. The new one did have some access glue but not bad. Primary is 10 microns and 2ndary is 4 microns. The part numbers printed on the filters has changed since I replaced them 1.5yrs ago. They are OEM Racor/mc filters. Pics attached. Love my 6.0!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does this have both fuel filters?**
A: Yes it has both filters and new "O" rings.

**Q: On the ford website it says the part number should be fd-4606 these are 4616 is there a difference? It's for 04 6.0**
A: If you check the Ford Parts website & click the "supersession" button it says Ford part #9155(fd-4606) has been replaced by part #9N184. If you enlarge the picture of the box here on Amazon, under the fd-4616 you will see that the other part number listed is 9N184. Not sure why the Ford site still lists it under the old part # (and still has the "add to cart" option under the old number as well), but I've noticed similar situations on the Ford site before. I've checked a couple other sites as well though & it looks like the fd-4616 fuel filters are correct for the 6.0

**Q: Will this filter fit a 2004 Ford 250 superduty 6.0 diesel truck?**
A: Yes it should. It fits our 2003 6.0 diesel. I highly recommend using OEM filters on these trucks. They are a perfect fit. I've read some aftermarket stuff doesn't fit as well. The same is true of the oil filters. Btw - Amazon has a pretty handy low profile fuel filter socket. It makes the swap a little easier for the fuel pump cap along the frame rail under the truck. I use that or a low profile ratchet with a flexible head.

**Q: Does this fit a 2005 f350 6.0?**
A: yes it does .I have a 05 f350 6.0 always use them

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ OEM and the correct parts for your Ford truck! Simple DIY project.
*by A***J on March 14, 2017*

This is an OEM Motorcraft part at a fraction of the cost of the dealership! Don't get off brands of Ford filters; there are just too many problems. Get these originals at a little more cost than the knock offs, but half the cost of the dealership and you get the best of both worlds. Changing them is easy. However, 19 nM is not the same as 19 da. nM... The plastic cap on top of the motor housing says tighten to 19nm, and so I used my 1/2" torque wrench and did rotated it to 19 and tightened it down... Well, the 1/2" wrench is in DA NM (deca newton meters....) = x 10.... So what should have been tightened to 14 ft. lbs of torque (which is correct, btw) was tightened to 140 ft. lbs.... Well, it's on, but I don't think it's coming off... LOL The filter on the rail uses the same 36mm wrench that your oil filter cap uses. Some people have said 35mm fits as well; couldn't say. I didn't have either and had to wing it with something "close enough". It would make sense that they used the same wrench as the oil filter housing for ease of tools. Anyway, plenty of great videos on YouTube on how to change these out, and I feel stupid for paying the dealership for 5 years to do it for me at 4-5x the cost of these parts.
