Determined to provide for his family, he moves them all to Alaska to become pioneers as part of President Roosevelt's Palmer Colony project. Trip and her family are settling in, except her mom, who balks at the lack of civilization. But Trip feels like she's following in Laura Ingalls Wilder's footsteps, and she hatches a plan to raise enough money for a piano to convince her musical mother that Alaska is a wonderful and cultured home. Her sights set on the cash prize at the upcoming Palmer Colony Fair, but can Trip grow the largest pumpkin possible--using all the love, energy, and Farmer Boy expertise she can muster? Review: A great book - This book was so fun. We did it with my daughter’s book club and they all enjoyed it (11-13 year olds). They all have read and enjoyed the little house on the prairie series and we loved all of the reference to the books. Made it even more interesting when we realized that some of the people and places were based on fact. Review: Lovely, uplifting story! - This is such a fun book! It's a glimpse into the past, that highlights the present. It's written in an easy language, and it paints a vivid portrait of a life we all want to live. Thank you Carol! I'm waiting for Grandmother and Mr. Crawfords story now! Please finish it.... ## Features - Binding: paperback - Language: english - Manufacturer: Puffin - Brand: Puffin books - Publication date: 2019-07-16T00:00:01Z - Brand: Puffin Books ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Best Sellers Rank | #293,725 in Books ( See Top 100 in Books ) #619 in Children's Books on Country & Farm Life #1,710 in Historical Fiction for Children #10,761 in Children's Books on Family Life | | Customer Reviews | 4.8 out of 5 stars 132 Reviews | ## Images ![Sweet Home Alaska - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/91yIMSlp-lL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A great book *by T***Y on 18 May 2024* This book was so fun.
