Review: I like the depth they've added to the characters - I finished this book in an hour and it was fabulous! It's the novel of the upcoming live action movie. Being familiar with both the original movie and the Broadway musical I was curious to see the differences. I like the depth they've added to the characters, especially Belle who is now more than a bookworm. It also doesn't feel like the relationship developed so quickly as it does in the original movie. There's a part in the end that I really hope is in the movie. Being a fan of many versions of Beauty and the Beast including the original tv show there's always the disappointment when the Beast is transformed. (What can I say? Vincent ruined me for all other versions). It pretty much follows the movie but gives you just a *bit* more. What I love about this is that it gives you the background of the beast a bit more, answers the question of Belles mother, (which I am sure the movie will answer as well) and gives you a better look into several characters, including how beastly Gaston is, but he is so much fun as a villian!
