They commonly put talc in the paint to give the flat effect, so be sure it's mixed well or it will come out in globs and sputter. Also to get the full effect I suggest that you dust the thing you are painting rather than spray it on as you might with regular paint. It dries quickly, so you can give it multiple dustings without waiting too long between. That's the way you get an even flat paint effect.
