Are the clamps plastic or metal?

They are metal clamps that is ultra strong and sturdy.

Is there any way to reattach the cord? One of my brand new poles just fell to pieces when I unpacked it, the black end of the cord is not attached.

Dear customer, we're sorry to hear that the cord got detached from the rest of the poles. Please contact us through the "contact us" function on your Amazon order page, product page, or our store page so we can better assist you. Thank you!

It depends upon the length that you adjust it to. 115 cm is about 45 and 1/4 inches

Are the attachments good for walking in sand? I’m recovering from a broken knee and looking for a walking stick that will be good for my beach vacat.

Dear customer, We do have a mud stopper that will prevent your trekking poles from sinking on soft grounds. Thank you!
