Foldable Metal Exercise Pen

The MidWest Homes for Pets folding metal exercise pen is a great choice for giving dogs a safe play area indoors or outdoors. The 42‑inch height provides plenty of security, even for energetic pups, and the black e‑coated finish feels durable and resistant to rust. I love that it offers 16 square feet of space—perfect for playtime, training, or keeping a dog contained without feeling cramped. The secure door is convenient and easy to latch, and the whole pen folds up quickly for storage or travel. It’s sturdy, stable, and simple to assemble with no tools needed. Overall, a reliable and well‑designed playpen that gives peace of mind and plenty of room for pets to move around comfortably.

By far the most important thing I purchased for my new rescue furbaby last summer! We call it his home, and when we say "go home PeeWee" he races right in there willingly. We use it primarily when we are going out, and occasionally if he's feeling wild or amorous when we have company over with small children. He is a Maltese/Shihtzu mix, and this is a very comfortable size for him to spend a few hours whenever needed. We don't use it often overnight, but we certainly could if we felt he needed to be confined. As you can see from it video, it comfortably fits a bed, a full sized puppy training pad, food and water bowls and some toys. And ample room for PeeWee too, which is also critical. He seems to prefer sleeping on the floor rather than the bed, so there's plenty of room for him to do that too. ;) There are little plastic pieces that clip on to the bottom of the cage to protect our floors from any scraping of metal on our vinyl flooring. Which is fabulous. Those clips are plastic, not rubber. So they will not prevent movement of the cage, really. I imagine if one wanted better prevention of cage movement, one could probably affix rubber stickers to the bottom of said plastic clips to create a little friction. We haven't needed to do that though, as he does move the edges of the cage around a bit and we've had zero floor damage though. I saw very few reviews which mentioned sharp edges; I don't know if those customers got a flawed product. Ours has zero sharp edges, and we are very pleased with the quality of construction and reliability of his home. The cage is secure, and PeeWee cannot open it. For his protection, and also for the early days of potty training, this cage was critical for him to have his own personal space and know where his food, water and pee pads are. We leave the cage open whenever there is no need for confinement, and he routinely goes in there anyway, to use his pee pad or sometimes just for a siesta. I'm home most of the time, but he loves his home and is quite comfy in it. We were very careful not to confuse discipline with his home. He has never been wary of either going in there on his own or being sent in there if we are going out. It's never been used as a time-out place or a "naughty corner", which was important to me. I feel that it helps if they love their little home and consider it a positive place. Sturdy and well built, I have no hesitation in recommending this product. A definite must-have item if you're getting a puppy. Great value for money too!

So far so good. I received it without any of the clips and anchors, but I called the 800 number included in the package and someone picked up within a minute who promised to mail the accessories to me. I’ll know next week if they truly deserve this five star review but so far I’m extremely happy. The product is easy to assemble, very sturdy and plenty heavy for my puppy to not escape from it. I’m using some makeshift clips in the meantime. It looks exactly like the photos. EDIT TO ADD; missing parts received as promised

Overall, this pen has been super helpful for my small adult dog. She has severe separation anxiety and was constantly peeing in the house, but as soon as I got her this pen, she stopped entirely because she felt a lot more secure and had her own space (her "room", jokingly). Pros: Easy to set up and fold. I'm using indoors on vinyl flooring and there are no issues with stability or scratching the floor. Attaches easily to crate (even though my crate is a different brand). The shape can easily be moved around, and I ended up putting it around a dresser (using the dresser as one side of the enclosure) because it made more sense in my space, and this pen worked fine to do that. The 30" pen is just barely low enough for me (5'6") to step over. Cons: If you have a very jumpy dog, I don't think this would be secure enough. Mine doesn't climb or jump, so this pen (30" high for a 10lb dog) is excellent. The panel that includes the door isn't readily moveable and is one of the end panels when the pen is not attached together, so if you're putting the pen against a wall or around an existing piece of furniture, this could be awkward. I think it would be possible, though not very easy, to remove the clips and move the panels around with a pair of pliers, but you're definitely going to scratch off the coating (making them look ugly) and potentially make them have sharp protrusions (making them dangerous) by doing so.

This is a great pet corral. I bought it to use indoors to keep my little Dachshund puppies in a safe place until they get a bit older. The door makes it easy to get them in and out and even though the threshold is a bit high, they are still able to take a light hop over it. It does feel a bit light and easy to move, which is great for the doggy parents, but might be a little too flimsy for thicc doggies themselves. The coat on it seems like it’ll hold up well outdoors also but that’s not my intended use so I won’t be able to comment on that. It has this cool little clip thing on one of the panels that, when completed folded up, clips all panels together so it doesn’t swing open on you while moving it. I also like how you can attach a kennel to it, so your pets can have their play area and sleep area joined together. The price is great also.

My dog was getting knee surgery so, during recovery( 10 weeks) she had to be restrain to a small area. I shaped it as a 4x4 and put 2 mattresses inside. The fact that is open on top makes using the surgery cone a lot easier on her. The door opening is big enough for a large dog and the botton step is almost the height of the mattress.

I don’t usually do reviews but this is a good product. I’ve used it for 1 year as a playpen for my Labrador. Of coarse he could jump over it or just knock it over but he learned as a puppy it was quiet relaxing time when in there. If I had to critique anything that could be different it would be that it would be nice if it came with a snap on handle for transporting. Even if it costed an extra $5

We do a lot of traveling in our RV and our dogs like to be outside with us whenever we sit to watch the sunset or the sunrise. We don’t like to keep them on the leash because they like to roam around and sniff things. We purchased three of these Wonderful pens and set them up so that they would have adequate room to run around and sniff the grass while getting their daily exercise. We recently went to Maryland for Easter and our dogs desperately wanted to go outside a lot more than we wanted to walk them. We set up the pen in a protected area and they absolutely loved it. The dogs were happy outside. They had plenty of room to run around. Since we have the miniature dachshunds we decided to get the 4 foot height. The quality of the pen and the material is very sturdy and very safe for our dogs to be in without worry of them pushing it over. Each pen comes with pins that you can push into the soil to make it even more sturdy into the ground. It was a very good price, very inexpensive so the value for the money was top of the line. We’re very happy and if you are one to go camping or you want to put your puppies outside to play in the grass and enjoy the sunshine and fresh air, I highly recommend these pens. They’re safe easy to set up and they store almost into completely nothing. They fold up flat and fit in a small storage space. Here at home we have a pen set up for our dogs to run in while we sit on our patio and they enjoy it greatly.

Excellent, I needed a puppy gate for a large opening. Most are flimsy that I looked at but this is sturdy and with a little adjustment worked perfectly. I recommend this product 100%

This is my second purchase of this model It is a pity it came with some parts rusty and paint chipped hence 3 stars rating

Works just like the intended use. Bigger than I expected! Only needed one for my puppy.

Poco robusto, scomodo come recinto per cuccioli, non va bene sul cemento, va ancorato nella terra. Non stabile.
