Question 1

Is this good for aging skin with NO acne problem?

Accepted Answer

It's main indication is for acne. However, there are scholarly articles in dermatology journals, which I have open access to as a student, related to the effect of adapalene on aging skin with good results. There is also a dermatologist on YouTube using this as her first retinoid on herself and explains the difference between this and a retinol, while this could be considered not quite as credible because of it being on YouTube. There is information if you seek it out, though not as much as tretinoin on this particular topic. I have no aversion to spending money on my skin if the product works, and I would still try this over a $100 retinol product at Sephora.

Question 2

Can this be used for aging skin?

Accepted Answer

According to a dermatologist-Differin is a fantastic anti-aging product as it stimulates collagen production by cells in our dermis (the deeper layer of the skin),” "This is what helps with fine lines and overall skin thickness." ... It's also the same ingredient that helps improve skin discoloration, texture and tone. It can take anywhere from 3-12 months to see improvement, but I can tell you it helped me immensely. Lightened my dark brown spots and smoothed my fine lines. It took about 3 months of every day usage to see results

Question 3

Is this the same differin that I was prescribed by my dermatologist years ago?

Accepted Answer

Hi Jenn, thanks for asking! Yes- Differin® Gel is the same powerful, acne-fighting formula, now even more accessible and at an affordable price. It is the first FDA approved, over the counter product to contain adapalene, the prescription strength retinoid in Differin Gel. We hope you decide to try the product, and please feel free to reach out to our team if you have additional questions: gss@galdermaservices.com or 1-866-735- 4137 (M-F, 8a-5p CT).

Question 4

How much do you use every night? Dime size, quarter size, line across your finger?

Accepted Answer

Hi there! For best results, we recommend washing your face with a gentle, non-drying cleanser, such as Differin® Balancing Cleanser, applying a thin layer of Differin Gel to clean, dry skin (full face). No more than a pea-sized amount of gel should be applied in a thin layer to the face once daily. Follow the treatment with a moisturizer and SPF. We hope this is helpful!
