Review: Works very well - I found these to work very well to hold wires and connector for soldering. The magnets are strong enough and the goose neck are flexible but allow to put some pressure between part for good contact. The extra arms can be used to keep wires out of the way or to hold the wire straight and avoid drooping when soldering heavy gage wires. Although the alligator clip are as large as they come and will hold something at least 1/4", it would make this wonderful tool even more versatile if they offered some sort of optional clip or clamp with an even greater opening capacity. After fiddling with a rigid articulated holder for years, I can't overstate my appreciation for this product.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Why is there a hole in the metal plate hidden under the sticker?**
A: When manufacturing the QuadHands WorkBench, we use that hole to securely hang the plate during the powder coating process. The hanger also provides the ground which causes the powder, charged with 85,000 volts, to properly adhere to the plate. Then it get's baked in a 400 degree industrial oven for 10 minutes giving it that durable, glossy coat.

**Q: Can this be used with a tourch for soldering jewelry?**
A: The clips are metal and the only issue you should have is some discoloration from the heat. But if they do get ruined a replacement clip is available from many electrical supply houses. Do a web or Amazon search for "8-32 alligator clip" and you can find a replacement clip that will fit the goose-neck just fine. Bottom line, I think you will be fine but if something goes wrong you can easily find a clip to replace a damaged one.

**Q: What are the dimensions of the base?  I see the box size, but the base must be smaller**
A: The base is 9" x 6". The steel plate it is made from is 3/16" (not 1/8")

**Q: What is the largest diameter tube the alligator clamps can hold, and are the clamps available in a larger size if needed?**
A: The clamps will hold something approximately 7/8 of an inch. We do not have larger clamps available at this time. The alligator clips do unscrew and can be replaced with another 8-32 threaded clamp.

I found these to work very well to hold wires and connector for soldering. The magnets are strong enough and the goose neck are flexible but allow to put some pressure between part for good contact. The extra arms can be used to keep wires out of the way or to hold the wire straight and avoid drooping when soldering heavy gage wires. Although the alligator clip are as large as they come and will hold something at least 1/4", it would make this wonderful tool even more versatile if they offered some sort of optional clip or clamp with an even greater opening capacity. After fiddling with a rigid articulated holder for years, I can't overstate my appreciation for this product.

The helping hands are very helpful! The base is thick and sturdy and the magnets on the base of each arm makes it possible to adjust to whatever your needs. There's no bounce back on the arms as well which is a big plus if you've ever used some of the cheapo ones which move once you've aligned them. The silicone ends to the hands are also great for delicate work on PCBs. It's an expensive item but you can see the money goes into the product and not a fatter profit margin. The highlight of the whole thing though was the thank you card from the CEO which came in the box with a picture of him and his dog, lovely touch. Also I think it would look great with a white base if you ever expand the range!
