Review: Large gut-suckers. Very useful - - Made in China - Pkg marked "sterile unless pkg opened/damaged" but no method of sterilization mentioned - No expiry or lot info These are huge, gut-suckers. They are encased in the usual thin weave non-stick and the pad inside is all one piece so no separation. These can be cut as needed with a little creative taping for the raw edges. They don't actually look/act like the 3rd current listing pic shows, nor would you tape one on like that, but it's the general idea. I got a 10 pack and 50 pack and I suspect the listings will be combined so this covers both as they're the same. Just note that with the 10 pack, the individual packs come in a large single bag but the 50 pack came just as 50 individual packs tossed in an Amz shipping box. These are great for larger wounds and can be cut down for smaller wounds that ooze more or need padding. Very flexible and a very nice addition to your prep. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ just like the real thing...

Hopefully, the average first aid or emergency kit owner will never encounter a wound requiring a dressing this large. But if you do, this one will absorb or cover quite a bit of bad news. The dressing is in a standard peel-apart paper & plastic protective wrapper — sturdy enough, but subject to wear and tear with handling or packed into a tight kit. The dressing itself is a 12" x 26" absorbent pad sealed into an oversized sleeve or cover to make sort of a packet. The oversized cover allows the pad to be folded down to 12" x 14" or 12" x 7" or 6" x 7" depending upon what needs to be covered or absorbed — without getting all bunched up and weirdly shaped as you try to wrap or tape it into position. Others have suggested cutting to smaller sizes, which I would not. Cut open, there will be a mess of non-absorbent scrim layers and the absorbent pad which seems to be a loose felted paper pulp. I would advise just folding, or using a smaller dressing. I did not have a bucket of blood for testing, but the pad quickly absorbed and held 24 fl. oz. of water. Rolled up and squeezed out, the non-absorbent double facing side (blue line) was immediately dry to the touch. I was surprised to find the paper pulp filling, but for emergency use this dressing provides a much better package than a roll of paper towels.
