It isn't harsh or drying, hydration is something I focus on with my skin type (I have combi skin with enlarged pores and it can be both oily and dry!). The one downside to it is it does have a funky smell (though it disappears once applied- or maybe I'm just nosey blind!) it is quite strong sort of salty/ammonia type of smell which if you have a sensitive nose you might find particularly unappealing.
