## Description

Product Description The organic tomato planter is a brand new, innovative planter that offers fun & easy, indoor gardening. Each planter uses olla technology-an ancient technique used by Desert farmers in North Africa for thousands of years. The unglazed clay olla pots are made in low fire to create a microporous container. When buried in soil, they automatically release water, But only when the surrounding soil Dries up-avoiding excess runoff, evaporation, & water loss. With the olla inside this jar, you never have to worry again about when or how much to water-just top off with water once a week. Paired with a Unique soil blend including moisture-retentive Biochar, the planter creates the perfect environment to grow fresh, organic Cherry tomatoes at home. From the Manufacturer

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will this work in New York state in the winter? I'm worried we don't get enough sun.**
A: Dave, thank you so much for reaching out! These are like any other plants in that they need light to thrive. In the darker, cooler, months it will be best to have supplemental growlight for this to flourish. You can email us below for a great recommendation to use with this planter. If you choose to wait until Spring to grow it, then you will be totally fine with natural light. Hope this helps!Emily BuddCommunity Happyness Gurucontact@backtotheroots.com

**Q: What do I do with the fertilizer spikes?**
A: Hey there! The first spike will be pushed into the soil when your first flowers appear and the second spike when your first tomatoes appear. Hope this helps! Emily BuddCommunity Happyness Gurucontact@backtotheroots.com

**Q: How should we deal with algae growing in the glass jar? I've noticed its started growing and cant find anything online on how to treat it**
A: Hello! In order to prevent algae, be sure not to overwater. Let the top 2" of soil fully dry out before watering again. Sprinkling some cinnamon can help with algae on top of the soil. Also, algae likes the sunlight. But of course, so does your plant, so you don’t want to move it into the shade. Try wrapping the jar in something to prevent sunlight from reaching the soil & algae, while letting the plant continue to soak in that glorious sun.

**Q: is the jar always supposed to look flooded? Been a month and nothing has sprouted.**
A: Mine has never looked flooded. My plant didn't sprout until I moved to seeds a bit I believe I dug a little too far, you might want to check if your self-watering sprout thing is broken.
