Those are gain knobs. You wanna crank your receiver up to about 80% volume and then turn the gain knobs up to get maximum volume and sound without clipping. Using the gain knobs for volume increases distortion to speakers. With my set up my receiver goes to a 3 channel eq/ crossover with dedicated subout. Then that runs to 3 different amplifiers. A basic quick set up is my receiver is cranked to 80%max then I adjust my eq for gain on it using built in meter for maximum volume without clipping EQ then move on to Amp. Besides my sub amp my other two set somewhere between 12 and 22 gain. The amps peak power is not determined by how high you crank gain. But those are not volume knobs. **Q: What about the power source? is it autovolt?** A: no **Q: Does anyone know the true rms on rpa16?** A: What’s written in the specs is pretty accurate. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Been great *by A***N on May 5, 2024* This is pretty close to rated power i have had it a little over a year and still going strong pushin to polk s60 signatur elites rated at 350 rms each this amp is quite a bit more power than they will handle and i drive it hard every day no problems and they pound and it run fairly cool great for the price good and clean sound as well. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rockville D12 5000w power amp *by P***. on October 7, 2025* I bought this amp to replace the old 2600w pyramid unit for our bands PA .
