First, it has sort of a salt-shaker top so I applied glitter primer and then "shook" the glitter on until desired. I also applies it with a makeup brush for more preside designs. It wears well, lastly mostly all day. I would say yes you can use it for 'face painting' **Q: Is this glitter biodegradable?** A: No **Q: Can i use this is lipgloss?** A: I think it would be hard to keep it on. Maybe with the right mixing medium but even then it would scratch. It's a small little bottle, about the size of your thumb, but a little goes a long way. You dab it on your finger and apply. It looks good and stays on all night, but it's not a big bear to remove. Doesn't seem to fleck off onto clothes; a little bit, but not very much at all. Very fun and grateful for the purchase.
