We haven’t experienced torrential downpours since I got it, so I can’t comment on that, but it works well in rain. The hood has an adjustment to tighten it around your face, but no adjustment to pull the hood back, like some other raincoats do, so the soft lid in the front of the hood sometimes comes down too far in front of my eyes, so I just fold it back. It can be used in warmer weather and can also be used in colder weather by layering. I am 5"6" and 148 pounds and I purchased a Small and also a Medium size as well. Based on reviews - I purchased 2 of the jackets - as I was unsure which size to buy. The jacket is very slim and form fitting. The Small size fits very form fitting and I can wear it with a T-shirt or light pullover or long sleeve shirt underneath perfectly.
