Quart Cans

These cans are perfect for "leftover paint" when your project is done. If you have a third of a can or less of paint left in the original metal can it's going to harden within a year or two. The can lid will probably rust inside the can and ruin the paint inside. Plus, a gallon can is, well, four times as large as a quart! Think about that from a storage perspective. Use these excellent plastic quart-size cans to keep that leftover paint fresh for a long time. I had five different colors in five metal gallon cans of leftover paint from a whole house project. I saved a quart of each color using these plastic cans. They will not rust, they are airtight, and are sturdy. Yes, other reviewers complain that the lids are difficult to get on. They are not with a good hard rubber or plastic hammer. With a light, clean tap the lids click on very nicely. I am very happy with these cans. If I only need a blushful or two of paint out of one of these plastic cans, I have saved the cost of buying another whole gallon two years later because the original paint had dried out because of being left n the original metal gallon can. Also, remember to keep paint in a temperature stable location. That means not in your garage or shed! Temperature extremes will quickly ruin paint. I highly recommend these containers for any appropriate job. Use the correct tool for sealing the lid and rest assured they will close perfectly. One note - if you have no hard rubber or plastic hammer, use a piece of hardwood laid across the lid and lightly tap the WOOD, not the can, to get it to click tight.

Perfect for storing paint. Lids are so tight you need a mallet to close them. At first I was afraid they wouldn’t close but they fit and seal perfectly. Plastic is strong enough and won’t rust like metal cans.

Just exactly what I wanted

Lid is tough to get off and on, worse than a metal can because you can't deform it while prying. I guess that's needed to make a tight seal but man it's a pain.

Had our house repainted and had less than 2 gallons of paint leftover between (2) 5 gallon buckets of paint. These cans were perfect to store the leftover colors. I had no trouble securing the lids by using a rubber hammer and listen for a "click" and y9u know it's sealed!

I like the cans so far, no risk of rust. The lid was easy to put on. Just tapped with a regular hammer in a circular motion. Some reported it impossible to put the lid on. I think they may have been trying to put it on upside down. It happened to me, I thought "This can't be possible." I looked closer. Sure enough I flipped it over and it sealed no problem. They are a little pricey buy for a can that won't rust, I'm satisfied.

These plastic paint are a better choice than the steel rimmed cans The steel rimmed cans have a tendency to rust and weld the top to the can. Which can make it very difficult to remove the can top. Much easier to keep clean. Just use a silver sharpie to write contents on lid

Bought these to put paint from all the projects in the house. Easier to hold this size can, than the full gallon. The tops are a little finicky to get on. I used a rubber mallet and was able to get it on as good as it was going to.
