The USB rechargeable MacroStream is a compact personal light that fits in the palm of your hand or comfortably in your pocket and provides unparalleled performance for its size. Explanation in the review. - Update: Still feel the same way about a micro USB but if you think the thing is broken when you get it (I did) it's because you haven't figure it out. Tap the light (don't push) and it comes on bright. While holding it at that brightness, tap again and It will go to low power. When you have one or the other showing, press firmly and that's the light you will get. I had no clue what I was doing and came within a breath of sending it back. I apologize to the store and the manufacturer for being clueless. Updating to 5 stars. The bright is very bright the low power works well in low light. This day and age, I "Assumed" that it would be the, now, standard USB C. It actually micro usb! Go figure. I am half way tempted to return the thing because of this. I now have to dig into my old junk drawer to find a micro usb. Oh it is one good flash light. Just this old technology, for something this expensive, disappoints. The fact that it states it is a micro usb is besides the point. That info was buried. And I could have asked does it have X-Ray capabilities, but I KNEW IT DIDN'T. Now it only has high and that is sometimes. If the barrel gets turned, it will light at a press but won't stay on. If you turn the barrel, it will now stay on but only high power. The "barrel" I refer to is the "sleeve" that you push up to reveal the micro usb. What that has to do with it, I have no clue. Double press only turns high power on quickly. Certainly not worthy of the EDC tag.

**Q: Do you have to use special stream light charger on the macrostream to get light to turn green? Or can you use and micro usb and wall adapter?**
A: Any micro usb charger and wall adapter will turn the charging light green when fully charged. If you use a lower quality cable the charging time may take longer.

**Q: How far is the throw on this one?**
A: not far at all. couple feet. i use this daily and hate it. swapped battery with cheap one and actually has better life. light isnt very bright or wide. my old aaa battery one was way better.

**Q: Replacement clip for the Macrostream 500 lumen? I've had the flashlight for 10 months and the clip is so weak the flashlight keeps coming off.**
A: With the clip removed from the flashlight, slightly constrict both wraparound tabs, either with your thumb, or by squeezing with pliers / Channel-Locks AFTER applying several protective layers of tape over the tabs to prevent marring the clip's finish.

Worth a try before the hassle of buying a replacement clip.
