Even if you use too much, in an about an hour, it becomes a subtle scent that says, "this person has bathed and smells good from having done so." I call it a hugging cologne because you have to get that close to smell it. In the 80's or 90's (it's been around even longer) LL cool J (James Todd Smith) went on a crusade to promote it without, I believe, any compensation because he loved it so much. That may give you an idea of my age, but don't be deterred by that. The scent is dependable, wearable, ageless and timeless.
