This book gives information about the 12 men responsible for fulfilling prophecy & spreading the Gospel. It is amazing God chose these ordinary, uneducated men for His mission of salvation. Whereas 11 men led by the Holy Spirit spread the Gospel, one man led by Satan delivered the prophecy. Each of the 12 chose their path. Eleven chose wisely.

I love this book and author. It brings the disciples to life and helps you understand the historical time period. I hope I get to buy all of his books. Excellent.

An awesome feat accomplished through these ordinary men, but by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. John MacArthur has done a masterful job in clarifying the importance of Jesus, but also the marvelous work carried out by the ordinary chosen men. A remarkable Savior indeed. 🤎

A good book, interesting view of the lives of Jesus' 12 Apostles. He makes some interesting observations about the stages of calling in the apostles, from disciples to apostles and to martyrs. He makes a few assumptions that are not accurately based in scripture, but worth the read.

We are using this book in my Sunday School Class to study the Apostles, and it contains enough information that we should get about 6 months of lessons from it. The writer is very knowledgeable and quite studied! I like his discussions very much! A valuable study resource!

What a beautiful, well written book. Its meaningful and spiritual and heartwarming all while telling a true, captivating, engaging, delicate, and honest story. Easy to read and to get absorbed in. It's not just their story that is interesting but the meanings behind what they did and why, even relevant today. I truly relished in it, learned so much and would definitely recommend it!

The book really show us a different perspective of the life of those 12 men. How the Lord shaped each one of them, except for Judas Iscariotes, in the same way He does today, but perhaps in a more intense way. Transforming ordinary and miserable men into valuable tools in his mighty hand. Making sinful men able to follow the steps of the Master and share his loving gospel to the world. I recommend it.
