## Description

Varathane Aged Wood Accelerator creates a burnt, charred look on bare or untreated wood. It creates a unique, one-of-a-kind black char look by replicating the aging process that happens in nature by reacting with the tannins of the wood.

Review: Great stain! - This turns out so pretty! I brushed the stain on with a paint brush then wiped it down with a dry rag.
Review: Perfect scorched loom - I wanted a charred/ scorched look for a back drop trade show booth and this exceeded my expectations. I used beetle kill (blue stain) tongue and groove pine for the display. Reading a lot of the reviews and looking at the manufacturers photos for pine I was hesitant to purchase. But I figured an aged look wouldn’t be so bad. After the first coat I had something that resembled old barn wood. Very gray and brown oxidised looking. I had some uneven colorations so I went for a second coat and that’s when this magical product delivered exactly what I wanted. There’s a lot of gray and iridescent hues in different lighting just like scorched wood or charcoal has. I did zero sanding or prep on these panels and I’m sure the rough texture just adds to the character of the scorch. I highly recommend this product. My results were better than the sample photos.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What would happen if I use this on a light oak cabinet that has a polyurethane finish?**
A: I’d imagine you’d have to sand these first. I used this on raw cabinets and it came out beautiful. Baseboards too. I wouldn’t think the stain would adhere to wood if you had a finish already on it.

**Q: I want to stain my shower bench with this stain. Will color hold up after living in shower?**
A: I’d highly recommend that you seal your bench with a crystal clear waterproof topcoat! Several coats…

**Q: is this product food safe for countertops?**
A: I wouldn’t ruin your piece with putting food on it, and if you were to have a piece you’d like to serve food on, I’d suggest you seal it with a topcoat and therefore you’d have to choose one that is food grade safe… hope this helps

**Q: Does this stain need to be sealed if used on porch swing?**
A: Rust-Oleum 347105 Charred Wood Accelerator, Black. Yes, use "Clear Polyurethane" to seal!!

I liked how fast this went on. Not gooey. It really updated an old pine table. It actually looks a little charred and aged.
