Review: ESTWING Hammer – The Thor’s Hammer of DIY! - Listen, if Thor ever needed a backup hammer, this would be it. The ESTWING Hammer is an absolute beast, built like it was forged in the heart of a star. The moment you pick it up, you feel an immediate surge of power—or at least the confidence to smash some nails into oblivion. Durability – Practically Indestructible This thing doesn’t just hammer nails—it asserts dominance. Whether you're hanging a picture or demolishing a wall (on purpose, of course), it gets the job done with zero hesitation. Dropped it off a ladder? No problem. Left it in the rain? It doesn’t care. Used it to fend off a rogue spider? Perfect weight distribution. Grip – Feels Like an Extension of Your Hand The rubber grip is so comfortable, you’d think it was custom-molded for your palm. I’ve swung this thing for hours and never once felt like it would slip. In fact, if I ever need to pass this down to future generations, I’m confident it’ll outlast my entire bloodline. Precision & Power – Nails Never Stood a Chance One swing, and BOOM—that nail is in the wood like it owes you money. The balance is perfect, making every hit strong, controlled, and satisfying. ✔ Feels great in hand—no awkward weight imbalance. ✔ You’ll want to start fixing things just for an excuse to use it. ✔ Can survive practically anything short of an asteroid impact. Final Thoughts – The Only Hammer You’ll Ever Need If you’re tired of cheap, flimsy hammers that bend when they see a tough nail, this ESTWING is the only hammer you’ll ever need. It’s heavy-duty, powerful, and makes you feel like a legend every time you use it. ## Features - Estwing - E316S ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B0000224VG | | Best Sellers Rank | #260,028 in Home Improvement ( See Top 100 in Home Improvement ) #479 in Claw Hammers | | Brand | Estwing | | Brand Name | Estwing | | Colour | Silver | | Customer Reviews | 4.8 out of 5 stars 2,449 Reviews | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00034139623816 | | Grip Type | Cushioned, Non-slip Rubber | | Handle Material | Vinyl | | Head Material | Alloy Steel | | Head Style | Flat | | Item Weight | 1 Pounds | | Manufacturer | Estwing | | Manufacturer Part Number | E3-16S | | Model Number | E3-16S | | Number of Items | 1 | | Style Name | German | | UPC | 788809599955 100028817298 714637831530 636123626102 732233469483 034139623816 643749769465 809199911124 640024942773 809393889618 | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Estwing - **Colour:** Silver - **Handle Material:** Vinyl - **Head Material:** Alloy Steel - **Item Weight:** 454 g ## Images ![E3-16S 16 oz Straight Claw Hammer with Smooth Face & Shock Reduction Grip - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/718GmjiwbAL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: how long is the handle?** A: Depends on the hammer weight. The 22oz is 16" long from top of head to bottom of handle. The 16oz is shorter but I dont know how much. **Q: What is the full weight with the handle and head for the 16oz and 20oz?** A: Look under "Technical Details", item weighs 1.52 lbs (20 oz hammer) **Q: Is this a good thumb detector?** A: I find that the more I’ve used it, the less effective it has become for this purpose. Either I’m getting better at detecting nails, or worse at appendages. This is odd considering I’m all thumbs. **Q: I bought a 30oz estwing framing hammer from amazon. it doesn’t have yellow estwing itched on handle or size etched on head.** A: I bought the 20oz. estwing a while back and it has 20oz on the hammer head in "ink" which will wear off over time. The yellow estwing is also in the handle. Perhaps they changed their manufacturing process. Hope this helps. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Estwing E3-16S 16 oz Straight Claw Hammer *by J***N on 12 August 2023* Nice tool, received in good condition. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ESTWING Hammer – The Thor’s Hammer of DIY! *by W***R on 19 March 2025* Listen, if Thor ever needed a backup hammer, this would be it.
