Secondly, the batter needs to be in the correct consistency, otherwise expect your waffle batter to run all over the place. Best to follow the provided recipes. I have owned three waffle irons over the years and this one is the best by far. The process of preparing the waffle is easy as the ring provides a nice, leakproof mold for the batter and the non-stick surface truly is. I do not use it for stuffed waffles and it works well with just the batter. I also find that the size (about 5in. in dia. and about 1in thick, is a good size with many Belgian waffle makers creating a huge mass that is far too big for one person.
