Organic Maca

I've been taking this consistently, and the biggest difference I've noticed is a little more overall drive throughout the day and, more noticeably, an increase in libido. I wouldn't compare it to caffeine or a pre-workout because I don't get a sudden energy rush or feel wired from it. It's much more subtle. The package says gelatinized maca, but don't confuse that with gelatin. This is still a very fine powder, almost similar to cinnamon in consistency. The gelatinized part refers to how the maca has been processed. The flavor is earthy but really isn't bad. Mixed into a protein shake or smoothie, I barely notice it. The powder is fine enough that it's easy to add to something I'm already drinking instead of having to take another handful of capsules every day. For me, the libido and overall drive are the reasons I've continued using it. I notice the difference more when I'm taking it consistently rather than expecting something dramatic immediately after a scoop.

I have this in a smoothie EVERY SINGLE MORNING! The taste is mild and pleasant. You could put it in oatmeal and maybe yogurt. BUT HERE'S THE DEAL, if you struggle with fatigue, this is a great product, it helps with energy and stress. It's also good for those who have low libido. And, it has been used for centuries by indigenous people for menopause symptoms and Sis, IT FREAKING WORKS! I really struggled with various menopause symptoms and wanted something natural. This really helped me; I mean I would say it gives me total relief. Then I stopped because I wanted to lessen the ingredients I was adding to my (then) expensive smoothies, but the symptoms returned. Safe to say, maca made the smoothie cut and I'll keep using it. I love that this brand is organic, it's a good amount of product for the money and it's gelatinized which helps with absorption. I really can't say enough good things about it. I don't know if it would work this great for everyone but it's well worth the try and it's nutritious too.

Superfoods seem to be more plentiful today than they've ever been. One of the best, but lesser known, is an ancient root vegetable called maca, belonging to the same cruciferous family as kale and cauliflower. However, maca is most closely associated with mustard, turnip, cabbage, garden cress and watercress.1 Grown in the Peruvian mountains, maca's history is long and distinguished, as it was used even earlier than the Incans for both food and traditional medicine. Its most notable use was to proliferate fertility in both men and women and, serendipitously, increase sexual desire. That may be why another name for it is Peruvian ginseng. Today, maca is taking on new life with clinically proven and remarkable health benefits, both as a food and supplement. Studies show it to improve mood and memory, lower stress levels, treat osteoporosis, protect against UV radiation,3 help balance hormones 4 and perform a dozen other functions. Similar to a turnip, maca root (Lepidium meyenii) is the world's highest-growing cultivated crop, still flourishing in the rocky soil, high winds, intense sunlight and widely fluctuating temperatures of the Andes Mountains, at altitudes at or above 13,000 feet. Rain Tree, a tropical plant database, notes certain basics of the maca root: "It is rich in sugars, protein, starches, and essential nutrients (especially iodine and iron). The tuber or root is consumed fresh or dried. The fresh roots are considered a treat and are baked or roasted in ashes (in the same manner as sweet potatoes). The dried roots are stored and, later, boiled in water or milk to make a porridge. They also are made into a popular sweet, fragrant, fermented drink called maca chicha. In Peru even maca jam, pudding and sodas are popular. The tuberous roots have a tangy, sweet taste and an aroma similar to that of butterscotch." Maca roots are still grown, harvested, sun-dried and ground down to powder form. Its "earthy, nutty" essence is often sprinkled in such dishes as oatmeal, smoothies and trail mix. A good place to start might be 1 tablespoon daily, working up to three per day for maximum benefits.

I use this everyday and noticed a difference. Good quality and easy on the stomach

Works well in terms of energy as a nutritional supplement, but I only need a small amount as it can be quite effective depending on your biology

From my observation. It help keep blood pressure at an great number. Taste is not so pleasant at first but it gets better as the taste buds get accustomed to it. No side effects to report. Have been using it for sometime now

It's maca powder. i would prefer if they didn't include a "scoop" and just did a standard measurement instead of having the included scoop be the amount they recommend and there's no explanation or information about the dimensions of the scoop and does not explain what amount the scoop holds. i will try to remember to revisit this review to post an image of the scoop. Also, the scoop tends to form a more solid (but brittle) mass with the powder being more bone looking by appearance than a scoop. in my opinion, one of the vitally important supplements all men under 70 should be taking.

My nutritionist suggested I start taking maca daily to help regulate my perimenopause. I will tell ya, it’s making a difference. Though she suggested I take 1 tbsp daily.

Awesome
