What is the Manufacture ID, or Media Code? Also, what Country are they manufactured in?

Manufacture ID MCC 03RG20 Made in Taiwan

About how much time do these hold

The amount of time for a DVD video that will fit on a disk depends on how high the quality you desire. A high definition 720pixels video will run about 1 hour and 25 minutes.

can you write on these?

Yes you can write on them with a sharpie-if you own the right kind of printer, you can also print artwork on them. I purchased an epson printer at Best Buy for $70.00 and there is a tray that you put the dvd right into. It prints high quality artwork or pictures directly onto the dvd and looks very professional.

Product page = dvd-r, but image of actual disc = cd-rw. so which is cprrect? tia!

What I bought looks like what is shown here and that is dvd-r should be about20-30 dollars. contact the seller to be sure. I do like this brand!

Seems to work great for file backups.

Bought these to burn some GOG games and other personal files on for offline backups, I burnt over 40 of these disks so far and them all seemed to be working fine. Not sure if it is the software im using or the disks themselves, but it only seems to let me burn 4.3GBs worth of files on them, I suspect it is the software doing that though. Using Xfburn for it. Price is not terrible for this either, getting a lot of stuff backed up without much investment.

Excellent value $

Excellent quality DVDR at a very reasonable price. Verbatim quality has never disappointed me, or let me down.

Good, reliable DVD blanks - Not hub printable

No complaints about the DVD quality. Not one bad disc out of 200. However the print surface, while good, is not hub printable like the other Verbatim DVD-R printable discs, so if you have a design that goes to the hub prepare to adjust the printer or get ink run over that smears. Also the hub has bold face Verbatim branding that’s very noticeable and makes the product less professional. I’ll still buy Verbatim DVD blanks but not this series.

Once I used a good DVD drive, all good

I got really frustrated as I couldn't get any DVD to finish burning. I was getting an media write error at different stages of the burn process. I tried writing at different speeds to no avail. After about 20 failures with my 2010 iMac, I got my 2012 Mac Book Air with a USB Superdrive, and everything is working as expected, no errors at all. Several DVD's completed with no issues. I still don't know why they wouldn't work on the iMac though. I have burned many DVD's in the past with it with no issue. Maybe it's getting too old =(. I left a 5 star review as I am assuming that the DVD drive in the iMac is the issue and not the DVD's themselves, as I haven't had any issue with the MBA and superdrive combination, but I don't know that for sure.

I'd buy again.

I know writing to DVD's isn't in fashion so much anymore, but Verbatim puts out a consistent high-quality product. Used in combination with a high-quality DVD burner, you can't go wrong.

Junk do not buy

Junk. I have tried 6 or more times to burn a movie. They just do not work. Brand new dvd burner so it has to be the discs. Do not waste you money on them.
