Faceplate & Touch Pad

Insanely good details, simple and perfect. I did put together a good controller for the first time, and I count this as reliable. Nothing broke easily and I was able to put these things together simply. Everything fit good, and feels good in my hand.

The eXtremeRate "The Great Wave" Touchpad Front Top Shell is a beautiful and high-quality upgrade that gives your PS5 controller a completely new look and feel. The design is striking—visually unique with vibrant artwork that really stands out in person. Beyond looks, the material feels premium and smooth to the touch, offering just the right amount of grip while still allowing your hand to glide naturally during gameplay.Installation is fairly simple, especially if you're comfortable opening up a controller. Even if you're new to modding, a quick YouTube tutorial will walk you through the process step by step—it can easily be done in under 5-10 minutes. Once installed, everything fits perfectly with no creaks, gaps, or loose parts.Overall, this shell delivers on both aesthetics and comfort. If you’re looking to personalize your controller with a design that reflects your style, this is a great-value upgrade that feels just as good as it looks.

Came out awesome, doesn’t take long to do if you’re comfortable taking stuff apart. Heat gun or hair dryer to soften original touch pad, so prepare for that. That was the most challenging part, as well as the little clear plastic light guide parts to install in new touch pad bracket. Other than that it was a breeze. Just be patient and have fun with it. Love the wood pattern, it has a soft feel to it and it is great quality made parts!

I love the new look, and it was pretty easy to install while watching the video instructions. BUT today I went to change the two smaller buttons by the touch pad when I found out that it’s now damn near impossible to pry off the face plate without damaging it or the new shell. It’s nice that everything is nice and secure, but I wish I would have known this before assembling it. Make sure you make all changes to your controller on the first go. Ye be warned.

This was great, it came with replacement hardware, the exact tools, and there is pretty good documentation for the install. Feel is nice and quality is great.

Got this because of it being dragon. LOVE how it turned out. If you know how to change them out this faceplate is a great addition to my controller. Heavy-duty plastic and fit like a glove. Smooth enough to touch but stays in hands just fine.

The product quality is really good. Admittedly I think they just hydro dip or vynal wrap regular ps5 factory shells but it looks really nice! I already had one the first time and I’ve had the back on for about a couple years. But one thing to keep in mind is that your colored fronts and backs will get dinghy and like stained dirty. That’s why I got the carbon look, because it’s like glossy and slides well. But on the back it did peal a little but I can’t see or really feel it but other than that it’s really good!

No instructions included, it is also major surgery to install this and not really worth it

Amazing quality and looks splendid!Fitment was precise, although required couple of extra tools. Takes about 30-40 mins to put on.

Touch is not supported, so what is the point of buying the frame? Be careful not to be deceived

Got this part last as i was a little hesitant to take the entire controller apart, but i did and its working 100% fine, and the controller looks awesome now! Id suggest using a youtube video before taking your controller apart so you can see all the different parts, but this shell is definitely worth the price! It feels amazing, everything fits surprisingly perfectly, touch pad works with zero issues which is the part i was most hesitant about and i couldnt be happier with how it turned out! Now it matches my whole set up!

The listing is not accurate as the touchpad is not compatible with BDM020 models despite the listing stating this is compatible with BDM020. I cannot find a single thing in the listing stating otherwise.

Great product! Put it on in about 30mins (10mins of blowdrying).Solid quality, bits fit perfectly. However I chipped mine right at the end when putting in the sharp black bit. Be careful.Overall very happy with product!
