The clips have a little 'extra' overhang on each side of the spring, that holds it in place better. And although the clips can still come apart, they're easy to put back together again and still hold in place better than other pins I've purchased. Quick update: there have been a few duds, where the spring setup is too big, making it loose and those ones easily fall apart.
