It works up to 10 days. We have a pool service company and are 2 for 2 on dropping the CYA without draining using this product. You have to follow the directions and make sure the water is balanced correctly and the temperature is all within range. The last pool dropped from over 100 to 80 in 3 days. **Q: How to use this with minimal chlorine without getting algae? In Central Texas and water temp is 76 degrees** A: I add liquid chlorine to keep the level around 4. I don't get alge at that level. The tablets are good for stability but add too much cyuranic acid if you only use them. **Q: Can you use this in a hot tub?** A: This product would certainly work in a hot tub as long as all directions and dosages are adhered to according to the instructions. It has worked for many customers, but results can vary depending on unique circumstances. **Q: Does The compound "Dextrose Monohydrate" accomplish the same thing?** A: I wouldn't think that it would.... adding sugar to the pool won't reduce CYA ## Frequently Bought Together - Bio-Active BA-CAR-08 Non Polluting 100-Percent Cyanuric Acid Reducer Powder for Commercial and Residential Swimming Pools, 8 Ounces. - EASYTEST 9-Way Pool Test Strips, 140 Strips for Hot tub and Spa, Accurate Testing pH, Total Chlorine, Free Chlorine, Bromine, Alkalinity, Total Hardness, Cyanuric Acid, Salt and Copper - Cyanuric Acid (CYA) Reducer for Pool and Spa, Removes CYA Through Filtration 1IB --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.no/products/317879347-pool-stabilizer-reducer-cyanuric-acid-reducer-8-oz](https://www.desertcart.no/products/317879347-pool-stabilizer-reducer-cyanuric-acid-reducer-8-oz) --- *Product available on Desertcart Norway* *Store origin: NO* *Last updated: 2026-10-24*
