PCCO90X

*PLEASE READ in its entirety. I provide great information to inform you*:::SHIPPING:::I have Prime shipping. I ordered it on a Friday and received two boxes on the following Wednesday and the third box on Thursday. All boxes were in excellent condition as well as all the pieces inside. So when the UPS person brings you the first two boxes just let the driver know that a third box must arrive the following day (they are labled 1 of 3, 2 of 3, 3 of 3).:::ASSEMBLY:::-Manual for assembly: to download it just google "Powerline Cable Crossover Machine PCCO90X manual" and you'll get the PDF. It comes with the equipment but I recommend that while you wait that you read the entire manual so that when your product arrives you are already familiar with the pieces and steps. The way the instructions are written takes a bit of time to get used to but once you get used to it the instructions will be very clear to you.-Don't worry that the manual is long and that there are lots of instructions. Once you read them once or twice and see the parts for yourself you'll see that assembly is very easy.-If you're buying this also for triceps and biceps, then I recommend: Champion Cable Attachment Package Pack. I got them and they are of excellent quality and love them!-No tool is provided. But I assembled the entire thing with just my hands. After all is assembled you need a Socket Wrench to tighten up the 14 lock nuts that hold the whole thing together and six more (one for each pully).-After I assembled the whole thing and saw the complete product with my own eyes I am not impressed with the quality of the product, especially with the cables - they are made of plastic and look cheap. The whole thing looks cheap. This product sells on Amazon for $409 (+$36 tax) now on 5/4/2013, so it must have cost the manufacturing company about $120 at most to make. That's right. This product cost them ~$120 to make, and they sell it for $409. This applies to every product ever made by any company (cars, computers, etc.). This is how business works. So now you know that you are in fact getting a cheap piece of equipment. I took a couple business and economics classes in college so take my word for it. Low manufacturing cost and big profit is what drives business. But the equipment looks nice and I love it!-Assembly was very easy and even if the instructions are only ~90% clear, the other 10% can be figured out by common sense.-Whenever you install a pully holder or mid pully holder during assembly, do not tighten up the lock nuts because at the very end of assembly (Steps 5A-C) you'll be inserting and routing the cables so the pullies will have to be taken out real quick to do that (very easy).-Step 2B: you'll need a wrench extension for those two lock nuts. If you don't have it then they won't fall of until maybe an hour of exercise.-The leg attachment (thing that wraps around leg) is actually pretty good. The thing looks very cheap and it looks like it won't work but when I tried it, it actually worked really well! I tried it for the hamstrings and quads and it worked!-Step 2D: IMPORTANT - here the instructions forgot to mention to first apply silicon spray on the Vertical Frames BEFORE attempting to slide down the assembled Weight Frame. So do not forget to do this! Otherwise you'll have to literally hammer it down to slide! That's what I did until I realized I needed to apply silicon spray... It was so frustrating and I even thought I must have gotten defective parts (wrong size)! So I have warned you of step 2D.-IMPORTANT: After you finish assembly and you test the product you'll notice that it is not smooth at all and that the Weight Frames simply stick to the vertical frames and don't go down. This just means that you have to apply silicon spray but only on your personal "range" of the vertical frames that the weight frames will use. After the silicon spray, they'll be extremely smooth! This step is also NOT on the instructions but it's common sense.-99% of the assembly can be done by one person. The only exception is step 3A-3B - here's where you attach the long cross beam to the two tall vertical frames.-Took me a couple hours to do the entire assembly since the instructions were not worded well and it was my first time with this product. Now that I've done it once, if I had to do it again it would take me maybe ~30 minutes.-I also own PowerLine PPR200X Power Rack (for squats and safe bench pressing) from this company and I tell you from experience that if you are not careful when you put the weight plates on the holding bars that the paint will come off. With the power rack I just put strong tape on the bars to prevent this so you can either always be extremely careful or just wrap strong tape around the bars to prevent paint from falling off when you take out the weight plates over time. This product does come with a tiny bottle of paint in case you need to re-paint it a bit.-This piece of equipment is fully stable and sturdy after all bolts have been tightened up AND the two bases are properly wide apart. If they are not enough apart then the equipment won't be sturdy so distance is important here!-My non-olympic weight plates fit perfectly.-It came with two crossover handles (they feel very comfortable).-If you do decide to get the Champion Cable Attachment Package Pack, then I highly recommend getting two extra links (at any local store near where you live) or on Amazon: 100mm x 10mm Zinc-Galvanized Steel Carabiner Snap Link Hook - 3-3/4" x 3/8" (weight limit of each 100mm link = 500lbs, total = $7.38 including shipping for two) because this way you can leave four of the five attachments connected to the equipment at all times and the other can just be left hanging on it too. Or else with just the two links that come with this equipment you'll have the three attachments left unattached which can be VERY annoying.-Lat exercises should also technically be possible with this if the attachment is bought and you use your own chair, and even rowing is also technically doable with this equipment.:::WORKOUT:::Very smooth! It is a pleasure to finally own my own! I tried cable crossovers, triceps pull-downs, bicep curls, and leg extensions (for hamstrings and quads).

Review after my first workout:5/5: ValueSold and shipped by Amazon. Bought it during a Daily deal special.4.5/5: Quality- Overall, seems well-made, and the tubing is thick.- Pulleys are very smooth. Ball bearings in there!- Cables (two) seem high quality- Cons:1)What I wasn't initially thrilled with was the fact that the weight carriages slide up and down the square vertical tubes on plastic bushings/shoulders. The key is to USE THE SILICON spray that comes with the set. The instructions never mentioned where to actually use the silicon, so take my recommendation and put it all over the vertical tubes and inside the square bushings. Makes a world of improvement! And the spray is sticky, so it doesn't run everywhere. A+ on Powerline including that (and touchup paint! who does that?? A+) !2) Get a carpenters square and be sure the vertical tubes are square to the horizontal top tube. The instructions don't mention to check this. Helps to make everything stable and sit flat on the floor. Before installing the top inside corner pulleys, put the square up inside the corner (where the pulley normally would be) as you tighten the bolts.4/5 Assembly:I didn't really have any difficulties - just some minor things that could be clarified. Assembled everything myself with no help. My instructions included helpful diagrams, but in reading some reviews from several years ago, it appears they used to only have diagrams.I love it so far! I have a full Olympic weight set, so I can load it up. Note that the tubes which hold the weight plates are the small diameter size, but my bigger plates don't seem to rattle around. Use your imagination, and you number of workouts at your disposal is incredible.UPDATE Feb. 2015I've used this system for over a year now and wanted to give an update.1. No issues or defects. The machine still works perfectly and nothing has broken.I do occasionally reapply the included silicon spray to the vertical supports.2. Think outside of the box! If your workout routines have gotten stale, don't be afraid to try new ideas. This equipment lets you do just that. However, you may want to purchase additional cable attachment handles, such as a double D/triangle grip and lat pull-down bar. Also, a stand-alone bench with adjustable incline/decline increases the number of possible exercises even more!

I bought this for two reasons it's a heck of a lot cheaper then ANY other cable cross over machine, and I devised a way that I could hook up the PCCO90X up to my bowflex so i could use real weight instead if the resistance rods. Others have mentioned that the instructions are not very clear, they are just an exploded drawing of the PCCO90X with poorly labeled markings. my advice to you organize your parts and label them. Then start construction from the ground up. It is not a complicated machine, and anyone who has built anything before in their lifetime should not have any real difficulty.Pros:a large variety of exercises can be preformed to work most muscle groupsplenty of add-ons to make a versatile work out machinevery stable machine when used from correct anglescables are rated to support up to 360# on each sideusing cables to work out will work stabilizer muscles that most other machines won't work. basically that means more real world strength fasterCons:parts are made in china, and the paint that comes for touch ups appears to be lead based so don't lick the machine.when the lower cable is pulled horizontally it will pull the legs of the PCCO90X in so that the machine will look like a trapezoid I saw this at about 120# being pulled upwards at a 35 deg angle I added and L brace near to the corner braces at the top to prevent it from happening it has held up to 160# per sideDue to how the pulley system works you will lose about 40% (38.46% according to my measurements) of the weight that is actually put on to the machine. so you put 100# on it you are only actually lifting 60#does not come with weight so be prepared to buy them standard iron weights will run about 1USD per pound (if you shop smartly.) I had 100# of standard weights already but I needed to buy and additional 120# and I will need to buy some more soonSummary:All that being said, I have seen some great improvements in my performance at the gym as real weight gives much more even resistance the the power rods that I had perviously used. I was able to make modifications to the machine to make it more versatile and stable. With this machine my home gym is now complete and I can do almost any exercise in my house that I can do at my gym. I now only go to the gym for the social aspect of it.

I was looking to upgrade from my “single arm” cable machine. I wanted the ability to do a true cable crossover (among other exercises), and because of how quickly I like to move through supersets, I was tired of messing with plates, so I wanted a weight stack. I did some research and settled on this Body Solid model; it had what I was looking for at a great price. Sure I would have liked 2 weight stacks, but that adds a few hundy onto the price.Assembly: overall not bad. All the hardware came in one huge bag which is a bit annoying to have to sort them all out. Also the assembly video calls out hardware needed for steps even if you’ve installed that hardware already, so be aware of that. It took me about 3 hours from box to bicep curls. Not a single part was missing and they even included a little bottle of paint for touch ups.Quality: I’d say it’s what you would expect for this price point. It’s not perfect, but it fit together pretty good, it looks nice, and it works. It was also packaged very nicely and they clearly took care to make sure everything was going to arrive damage free. The weight plates are concrete or something coated in plastic so they’re huge compared to steel plates, but whatever, weight is weight I guess.Functionality: for reference I’m 6’1” 210lbs. I’m quite pleased with this machine. It’s smooth and quiet. Even 1-2 plates for side laterals operates very smoothly. Range of motion is good, not great. Trying to do double arm lateral raises by grabbing the handles on the opposite side with each arm will bottom it out, but you can buy 12” extension cables for a few bucks to fix that. Cable crossovers at all angles work great. The weight stack provides pretty good resistance, I’d say it tops out around 120-130 lbs using both cables. I also bought a little plate holder that I can slide into the weight stack and load up with 1” plates, so I should be fine for the foreseeable future; I don’t typically lift that heavy anyways.Overall, I feel that this was a great purchase. It will allow me to get pretty much any workout I want done at home (combined with my 90lb power blocks). I’m excited at all the new lifts I can do with this thing, and being excited about working out is 80% of the battle.

A lil info about me, I am retired Army disable Vet. I chose this product for rehabilitation and work out purposes at home, to minimize the amount of time I am away from my family at the big box gyms. Family Values! I know one thing I try to teach my children and a concept I operate under is a "Honest Days pay for a Honest Days Work" I don't feel this is indicative of my experience with Body Solid and Amazon.I am not happy with the product or my delivery experience at all. The product was lost or halted somewhere during shipping. I received a phone call two days or so after my "expected delivery" date advising that my product would have to be delivered a week a later. I had previously made arrangements for someone to be at my residence to receive the delivery. (wasted time and money) A week later the product was still unavailable for delivery and would have to be pushed back another day. (two more days of time and money wasted). Ok, now the product arrives, the box is a little damaged but it doesn't look too bad. I take the pieces out of the box for quick inventory. All the screws, nuts, bolts and washers are in one big bag; not that big of a deal. I separated all the pieces according to the inventory sheet provided. OK... there were missing screws and nuts and the screw size and count didn't match and wasn't consistent with the inventory provided. Some steps called for more screws of a particular size then what inventory listed. If you are unfamiliar with hardware and putting things together this could be extremely confusing, frustrating, and possibly lead to injury. I was able to go to the local friendly Hardware store and pick the missing pieces and sizes I needed. Now, I am fairly familiar (being modest) with putting things together. The pieces that was sent did not match. It appears the the main arm on the "left" side does not fit; apparently incorrectly manufactured with very poor "QC" before shipping. The top segment of the arm is about 15 - 345 (depending on viewpoint) degrees off from aligning with the pulley selector post. I am pissed! I've wasted time and money with this product and now have a colossal piece of junk in the middle of my gym slowing down my normal workout. I may be forced to continue with gym memberships.I cant make what's important to me important to someone else.If you chose this product I hope your experiences are better than mine- Army Man GJUpdate:After contacting customer service, better yet they contacted me, and very quickly fixed the issue. Within the week I had the new part at my door, faster than discussed with the customer service rep. So far I'v been using the machine for about a week and am loving it.The weight isn't super heavy but it is enough to get a GOOOD work out for sure especially if you decide to go "reps" vs "weight" And as mentioned in other post you can always add a weight plate with a hardware-store purchased-rod. Solid purchase. Thannx

Update 12/31/19:Still going strong. This really transformed my basement workouts. One of my best fitness purchases ever.***Original Review***So far so good...Been using for about 2 weeks. Solid build in a mostly compact package. For those saying assembly instructions lack--body solid must have fixed that issue. Pretty explicit instructions included with mine. I had no issues assembling my crossover machine.I have the plastic guides installed in mine and the weight carriages have no issues moving freely. The were a little sticky at first, but the lube fixed that with no issue. Glides like a commercial unit now.Max weight I've had on one side so far is 300lbs and didn't seem to have any issue. I would suggest using clips for exercises that take you away from the centerline of the machine (i.e. Lower/upper chest crossover). I've found this makes the weights "rattle" a bit and they can slide off the posts. No issue once I out clips on.Weight ratio is essentially 1:2. If you properly evaluate this pulley system, the math tells you so. It's not 1:1 or 1:3 like some people have said. So essentially for every pound you load on there you're getting .5lbs of tension requirement.Includes handles are a little goofy. They work just fine but I'm used to the compact D-handle style so I purchased additional handles. Also added on the straight bicep bar, triceps v-bar and tricep rope. Then added close grip pulldown handles and wide lat bar. All have been useful with this machine (depending on weight-rep ratio of your workout...it's tough to go heavy on lat pulldowns as you don't have anything to hold your legs down).I did a ton of research and mulled this decision over for two weeks before purchasing...but I'm glad I did. All the workouts I was trying to accomplish at home using bands are now being executed in an almost commerial-gym-type manner. Its worth the money and worth the 1 hour of assembly time. Also noted the listed dimensions are dead on: my drop ceiling clearance was 85" and this just sneaks in perfectly.

So, I've had this machine for over a month now and have used it several days per week. After a couple of weeks, the upright pulley cables on each side of the trainer began to twist. While it's not horribly bad, it is annoying. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if there is a fix for it?I received this today. It came in 6 boxes. None of them were overly heavy, which was a nice surprise. I alway unpack everything first a sort out the parts and hardware, laying them out so that I know what I have to work with.Overall, it took 4 hours to assemble, including a 15 break for lunch. Here are the issues I ran into with that assembly…1. The hardware was all packed loose in one plastic bag, not separated, not labeled at all. That made it challenging to tell what bolt was what at times, and took extra time to sort out the bolts, washers and nuts.2. One hole in one of the uprights did not line up correctly. It took me a lot of extra time to try to get the bolt to fit… squeezing, jiggling, hammering and eventually drilling out the hole to make it work.3. The instructions have you install all of the pulleys prior to running the cables as close to the last step. That’s no problem with the first two cables, but the third one that has connectors on each end would not fit under the pulleys while they were installed, so I had to remove all but 4 of those (7 total removed) to route the final cable around them.Once assembled, it is a sturdy, smooth and functional trainer, easy to adjust and it looks great, too. I’m certain that I will get many years of use out of it. In spite of a few issues during assembly, I’d still recommend this product. I’d have given it 5 stars if not for the assembly issues.

Purchased this cable crossover for our home gym. It’s one of the best pieces of equipment we’ve purchased. Overall, I prefer it to the one at the commercial gym where I’m a member. It operates very smoothly, even with no weight added. I’ve read reviews where some users suggest adding the larger plate sleeves to accommodate Olympic plates. We mostly use Olympic plates on the machine and have never seen a need for the sleeves. In our experience the plates have never moved around and I feel wouldn’t unless someone should be training with improper form such as jerking or bouncing the weight.Assembly was pretty straight forward and requires just a few basic hand tools. I suggest laying all the hardware out in advance and verifying/understanding what each part is. Read instructions completely before you begin assembly. Then use instructions again during your assembly. Once assembled, and before final tightening of the hardware, I recommend using a carpenter’s level to verify each upright support is square and straight, then tighten fasteners. Use the spray lubricant included, it only takes a small quantity.Overall it’s a great cable crossover, and for the price you can’t beat it.Stop by the hardware store and pick up a couple of additional clips used to attach the handles or other attachments to the cables. It’s just more convenient to have clips on all four cable ends. The machine only comes with two clips. The included odd cable handles.........I don’t know.......maybe donate them to science. Just order a couple of normal style D handles and you’ll be much more satisfied.

Received 3 weeks earlier than scheduled. Pretty easy assembly. Very sturdy and cable motion is very smooth. Building home gym after decades at a gym and this was the perfect addition. Highly recommended- you can perform so many exercises with this machine.

Anyone that has the space for one of these in their gym should get one. It transformed my training. It doesn't actually take up much space, its just quite high. The only gripe would be it is a shame there is not a setting for the cables to be used from the middle of the machine, only the top and bottom. But even so, the value for money is brilliant. So many exercises can be done with this thing, Best piece of gym kit I ever bought.Easier to construct with two people. About 2 hours. approx.

Good one for home gym
