Fine Mesh Sieve

If you're making shaken cocktails at home and aren't double straining yet, this is one of the simplest upgrades you can make. Double straining is one of those small details that helps bridge the gap between a typical home bar and a good cocktail bar. Catching the tiny ice chips, citrus pulp, and other solids results in a cleaner presentation and a smoother drinking experience, especially for drinks served up. For anyone unfamiliar, the process is simple: * shake the cocktail as normal * pour through your Hawthorne strainer * pass it through a fine mesh strainer into the glass The result is a noticeably cleaner cocktail with no floating ice shards or unwanted bits. As for this particular strainer, it does exactly what it should: * fine enough mesh for double straining * sturdy construction * easy to clean * comfortable size for cocktail use The biggest surprise for me was realizing that spending more doesn't necessarily get you much more. I also own a small mesh strainer that came in a Cuisinart kitchen set, and honestly I struggle to tell the difference between the two when using them. The quality, fit, and finish are effectively the same for the task at hand. That's actually a compliment to this strainer. Sometimes cocktail gear gets marketed as if every tool needs to be a premium specialty item. In this case, this affordable version performs just as well as more expensive alternatives I've used. If you're building out a home bar, I'd consider a fine mesh strainer a must-have accessory right alongside: * a shaker * jigger * bar spoon * Hawthorne strainer For the price, this is an easy recommendation and a great way to improve the quality of your cocktails without spending much money.

Very good quality. Arrived undamaged. Had ordered something similar from another brand and returned it. This definitely a good purchase

First use today. Works great for keeping coffee grounds out of my cup 😌

Works as expected.

I also found some a little cheaper in brick and mortar retail stores The Fine Mesh Sieve Strainer has become a valuable tool in my drink-making journey, providing me with exceptionally smooth results. While it excels in its fine straining capabilities, I must mention a couple of considerations for those looking to use it for larger quantities. Here's why I give it a solid 4-star rating: Smooth Drink Results: The standout feature of this Fine Mesh Sieve Strainer is its ability to deliver smooth and refined drinks. It effectively removes unwanted particles, ensuring a pleasant and enjoyable drinking experience. The fine mesh design is highly effective in straining out even the smallest impurities, creating a silky texture that elevates the quality of the beverages. Fine but Small: The fine mesh of this strainer is a double-edged sword. While it ensures optimal filtration, it also means that it has a smaller capacity. As a new drink maker, you may encounter challenges when straining larger quantities of liquid. In the case of making Brazilian lemonade with blended whole lemons, I understand the need for a couple of different strainers before utilizing this one due to its fine mesh. This extra step may be inconvenient for those looking to streamline their drink-making process. Ideal for Personal Drinks: The Fine Mesh Sieve Strainer is better suited for personal use or smaller quantities of liquid. It is perfect for individuals who value the smoothness and refinement of their beverages. If you're looking to craft a single serving or enjoy a carefully crafted cocktail, this strainer will undoubtedly meet your needs. Durability and Ease of Use: Despite its smaller size, this strainer is built to last. The sturdy construction ensures durability, and the fine mesh remains intact even with regular use. Additionally, the strainer is user-friendly, with a comfortable handle that allows for easy gripping and control during the straining process. In summary, the Fine Mesh Sieve Strainer offers an excellent solution for achieving smooth and refined drinks. However, its smaller size may pose challenges when straining larger quantities of liquid, necessitating the use of additional strainers in certain cases. It shines when used for personal drinks or smaller batches, where its fine mesh truly showcases its capabilities. Please note that the smaller size and fine mesh design are intentional features of this strainer to achieve the desired level of filtration. While it may require extra steps for larger quantities, it remains a valuable tool for those seeking refined drink experiences.

Very nicely made! Super sturdy and mesh is perfect (fine enough) for straining teas, etc. Would highly recommend. Great price too

I use this as a strainer for my coffee grounds. It works fantastic! Very good product and well made.

I used this to filter an herbal oil and it filtered out nicely.

good quality, hard wearing

Great for cocktails and straining my home brewed kombucha

Très bon produit

I purchased this to use as a vehicle to selectively dust food areas with fine dry herbs or sweet flavors, e.g. icing sugar or herbs. The cone shape does that very nicely.
