Is there Custom design option, like maybe writing a lodge name? I have seen this same exact blanket with the lodge name above the square and compass.

Yes we can do this as a custom. I will need to set it up on Amazon next week

I d like to purchase the Star blanket with out the word, can that be done?

Hi, if you mean without the letters that are part of the symbol and art for this Order of the Eastern Star blanket, then no, unfortunately the blanket is not available without those parts of the image. If you mean without any Custom wording and personalization, then yes, you can absolute order the OES blanket with no added words. I hope I have been helpful. Thank you!

I see frequent mention of putting this on the wall, but I'd legitimately like to use this as a blanket: is it pleasant to the touch? Thanks!

It works well as a legitimate blanket. It is quite pleasant to the touch, and thick enough for a fall night.

can this blanket be used as a rug as well? can I vacuum over it without any damage?

I wouldn't use it as a rug; it's not quite thick enough for that. But I supposed if it didn't get much wear I might work ok. Yes, you can vacuum it with out damage, but again, I wouldn't use it as a rug - it's better as a throw for a sofa or love seat.
