### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect addition to my collection of Wendy Toliver Books

I proudly added this book to my collection of Wendy Toliver's books. Her beautiful descriptive style and fresh voice always makes for a wonderful read. Although I am an adult, she made me love YA books ever since her first published book, The Secret Life of a Teenage Siren. Regina Rising again did not disappoint. Even though I am not familiar with the Once Upon Time TV series, I enjoyed the unique suspenseful story immensely, just as I enjoyed Red's Untold Tale. The characters were so well described I felt emotionally involved and did not want to let them go after reading the last page. I wanted to read more about them and what their futures held. Regina's terrible fictional childhood did make me think about Regina in the fairy tale, Snow White, and I felt sympathy for her, now knowing what a evil mother she had. So many twists and turns. And I cried for Regina and all she endured during this engaging suspensful tale. I really cannot wait for Wendy's next book.

Die Autorin Wendy Toliver erzählt in dem Buch „Once Upon a Time - Regina Rising“ die Geschichte der 16-Jährigen Regina, die auf der Suche nach Abenteuer, Romantik und Anerkennung ist. Letzteres erscheint bei einer Mutter wie Cora, die von dem Ziel getrieben wird, Macht zu erlangen, um ihre Tochter zur Königin zu machen und dazu bereitwillig Menschenleben opfert, nahezu unmöglich. Freundschaften waren für Regina immer selten. Ob sie nun endlich einen wahren Freund gefunden hat, oder ob dies alles zu gut erscheint, um wahr zu sein, wird sich zeigen. Regina kämpft, um ihre eigene Identität zu finden und ihr eigenes Schicksal zu schaffen. Dabei entdeckt sie, dass ihr vermeintliches Schicksal darin besteht, dass sie all das werden könnte, was sie verachtet.Die Geschichte liest sich zügig und leicht. „Regina Rising“ ist sowohl als Begleitbuch zur Serie „Once upon a time“ geeignet (obwohl es zwischen Buch und Serie immense Abweichungen gibt), sowie als eigenständiges Werk betrachtbar (hier mag dem Leser, der Reginas wahres Schicksal nicht kennt, die schockierende Schlussfolgerung, weswegen sie der Dunkelheit verfallen ist, seltsam erscheinen.Das Buch umfasst 359 Seiten und ist in englischer Sprache geschrieben. Die Maße lauten 18,4 cm (Höhe) x 14,4 cm (Länge) x 2,8 cm (Breite). Der Einband wirkt durch die angedeuteten, schwarz glänzenden Herzen sehr edel. Der Clou: Alle Seiten sind in der Lieblingsfarbe Ihrer Majestät umrandet: Schwarz. Besonders hat mir gefallen, dass die Lieferung ohne umweltschädliche Plastikfolie erfolgte und trotzdem in tadellosem Zustand ankam.Ebenfalls bereits erschienen: „Once Upon a Time: Red's Untold Tale“.
