Small Breeder

Great nursery for our newborns guppies. It’s a little smaller that I thought but fits ok in 5 gallons tank. I think its small for a female to give birth there. The holes on the bottom are bigger and one day old guppies fry can escape easily, but with a little bit of the ground stones went a great safe baby nursery.

I tried this out for my guppies and it worked perfect!! The babies aren’t so small they can escape through the holes but it’s big enough for them to be in temporarily. Do make sure you understand the measurements though because the small box is pretty small! But no complaints I love mine!

This has worked perfectly for us! I did read reviews first. Lots of them and they are very accurate. The large is VERY SMALL. if you are using this to catch the babies when the mom is birthing them I would say this is only good for fish around the size of guppies, platties or mollies. It is extremely small. I woke up and saw babies in my tank and ordered this with same day delivery. I caught them and put them in here so the mom was never in here. I did put gravel in the bottom as suggested in one other review and I also put some java moss in to help them hide and feel safe. I'm very pleased with it. For me the size is perfect but if you have a larger fish and you're breeding on a regular basis this probably is not something you dont want to purchase. This is in my 65 Gallon tank. I gave it 4 stars because of size. I can't imagine what the small one looks like. To me I would consider this a small if I'm thinking about small, med and Lg sizes.

I got this extra tank to hold feeder fish in for my piranhas. It came in a pretty questionable-looking box that looked fairly weathered and worn. I was a little hesitant to continue opening the box since it looked so flimsy and strange, but I had to get to the mini tank itself. The mini breeder tank looked used as well. It had some odd residue on the sides of it, and overall it just appeared kinda crumby. Nevertheless, it does work for what I need it for. I wasn’t looking for anything fancy, so this is actually suitable for me. However, the plastic is super thin and cheap. It’s a rather flimsy tank itself, and the suction cups honestly suck. No pun intended. It is always coming loose from the side of my aquarium, and comes off of the little tank unit itself very easily. The way that the suction cups are fitted onto the breeder tank are kinda dumb in my opinion. It makes them come off a lot easier, which isn’t necessarily good. Anyway, this tank works ok for what I need it for. I don’t know that I’d recommend it for anyone who’s seriously considering it for breeding though.

This is built for larger fish breeding and fry nursery, not for anything smaller. I used this for my pregnant ghost shrimp and unfortunately, lost majority of fry through the vents (saw one floating off to his death..). I had to use plastic wrap to carefully create the barrier and managed to save one fry.. and yes, I got small size breeder box. The vents may be too big for certain type of fry so buyer beware. Update: My Neon Black tetras were swimming wildly in my tank and I recognized the signs, so placed my pregnant female in this box then most active male that was stalking her and wanting to get in got his wish. Within minutes after being acclimated, they were rubbing against each other and female was laying lots of eggs....but once again, the VENT IS TOO BIG!! The majority of the eggs were flying off through the vents and eagerly awaiting tetras were well fed. Few eggs survived that didn't fall through the vent, but I HIGHLY RECOMMEND anyone else to get something beside this garbage. I'm pretty sure the fry will not remain long here sine they'll be swimming out through the vents just like my ghost shrimp fry.

little spawning box has a lot of quality features in a small size. even has the piece for livebearer young to fall below and not get eaten. good for tiny spaces. i would say use a bigger one for bigger fish or longer term housing, but for a small female betta for a few days to entice a male in a 3.5 gallon tank this was perfect.

Product comes just like the photo with some quick assembly, yes the large size is very small as other reviews have mentioned. It makes sense for a guppy or other similarly sized fish, but nothing bigger. I would recommend putting the entire unit inside of a mesh breeder. I did for added protection, which was a good call because I woke up to over half of the fry outside of this plastic breeder, but still contained in the mesh breeder. The side and bottom slots are definitely big enough for eggs/fry to get through. But the product does keep the mother from eating the babies.

Wish I would have noticed the dimensions of this item-pretty small, even for a momma guppy.

Good

Great for a little fish to be in there, but I found it too small. I can barely put my hand inside to grab the divider out. One of my question before purchase is that, would the new born fish escape the breeder box from those vertical gaps. The answer was absolutely they DO NOT escape. I also wished the suction cups wasn't back but in clear. When i have two female guppies in there, the bigger will chase the smaller one, so I might have to upgrade to two side breeder.

This is quite small. Note the measurements before ordering. Ok for what I needed. Plastic is thin. The suction cups work fine.

Parfait

Ne colle pas bien, très même trop petit pour l'utiliser même le temps que la femelle mette bas....
