Hoodoo spellwork and rituals for self-protection and how to get “payback” when you’re wronged. Features 129 spells, 32 recipes, and numerous rituals. Historically, Hoodoo was the magic of the disenfranchised, marginalized, and vulnerable. It was born of the need to obtain justice, power, and protection, as these were not typically naturally forthcoming. The ancestors and earliest practitioners of Hoodoo were enslaved African Americans, followed by their descendants and neighbors. How does one obtain justice if the system is inherently skewed against you? Hoodoo has developed a vast arsenal of justice and payback spells—spells intended to create a balance of power, punish victimizers, and protect victims from further victimization. It also empowers the victimized, so that they are able to rise above their situations, restore self-esteem, and create better, happier lives for themselves. The spells vary from mild to aggressive, depending on the personal level of justification. Hoodoo Justice Magic contains a diverse collection of these spells, as well as an exploration of their ethics. (Are you really justified? And what happens if you’re not?) Featuring 129 spells, 32 recipes, and numerous rituals, there are also 27 prayers for people who fear actually performing spellwork. The spells incorporate common household articles, such as salt and spices, as well as candles, tarot cards, and recitation of Psalms. Learn how to protect yourself and avoid trouble by recognizing the signs indicating predatory behavior. (Although several spells incorporate specific tarot cards, no previous knowledge or experience of them is required, as they are used as materials or objects that radiate magic power.) Review: Justice Has a Root: How Hoodoo Justice Magic Changed the Way I Understand Power - Reading Hoodoo Justice Magic by Miss Aida felt less like reading a book and more like being guided—firmly but compassionately—by someone who truly understands both the weight and responsibility of justice work. From the very first pages, I knew this was not going to be a sensational or vengeful take on Hoodoo. It was something far more meaningful. What stood out to me most was Miss Aida’s respect for justice as a spiritual act, not an emotional reaction. She makes it clear that justice magic is not about “getting even,” but about restoring balance, truth, and rightful order. That perspective alone reshaped how I think about spiritual work when harm has been done. The way the book is written made me feel both supported and accountable. Miss Aida doesn’t rush the reader into spells. She explains why justice work is done a certain way, when it is appropriate, and—just as importantly—when it is not. I appreciated that honesty. It made me slow down, reflect, and approach the work with more intention and integrity. The practical workings are clear, rooted, and powerful without being theatrical. Every candle, prayer, and root recommendation feels purposeful and respectful of the tradition it comes from. I never felt like I was being handed shortcuts or empty rituals. Instead, I felt like I was being trusted to do the work properly. What I value most about Hoodoo Justice Magic is its ethical grounding. Miss Aida repeatedly reminds the reader that justice work carries responsibility. That message stayed with me long after I finished the book. It made me more mindful—not just in my spiritual practice, but in how I define justice in my own life. This book didn’t make me feel empowered in a loud way—it empowered me in a steady, grounded one. It reminded me that justice rooted in tradition, prayer, and discernment is sacred work. Hoodoo Justice Magic is not a book I rushed through or simply added to my collection. It’s a book I return to, reflect on, and stand with. As matter of fact, I had to purchase this book again because my previous book got badly damaged during a moving. Ruth Wanczowski Review: Real World Protection - The subject is well known to the author. Miss Aida gives clear instructions and enough background information to help inform the reader's choice on their next move. Hasty people are warned against rash decisions and reminded that the punishment must fit the crime. Student's of traditional folk practices will enjoy this book.

Wow just WOW!!!
Where was this book when I was just starting on my magickal path? This stuff is what any practitioner of any type of magickal craft SHOULD read. Be it Hoodoo, Voudon, Witchcraft etc. Even if you are not interested in craft related things, it is still a must read. Miss Aida is a very gifted author, with such vast knowledge, of her life practice, makes this a wonderful read. I just started reading this gem of a book and I am already shaking my head with wonder at all the amazing knowledge. This well written book is very easy to read and understand. Anyone can follow the exact steps of this spell working, without harming themselves or the undeserving. I was going to wait until I finished the book before reviewing, but I just couldn't wait. I will add another review of this wonderful book, when I am finished. BRAVO Miss Aida. I am so happy to have gotten this book and look forward to reading more of your books.

Reading This Book Will Make You Feel Better
As I am a military veteran, Miss Aida has my full respect in her bravery for telling it like it is and for also serving in the military. Oh, they are out there...the ones who do not wish you well or have harmed you in the past. If you read this book and only imagine performing the magic on an intended target that could be enough to bring you comfort. It is for me most of the time. There are many Psalms and prayers from the Bible especially chosen to rid and protect yourself from evil. If you are especially keen on delivering the magic and spells, you will find this book a true delight. From simple magic to more extreme, everyone will find a right solution. Miss Aida is a wise woman and she sure knows the ways of harmful people. I especially value this type of knowledge I have learned from her. To not miss anything, I read this book slow and careful. That is how good this book is. Even if you believe the spells are "silly" and it is not your "thing," read them. You will be surprised at what you will learn about harmful people just by reading the spells. I highly recommend this book and guarantee you will learn something new.

Good!
I like all the disclaimers on how and why to use this book; use caution and THINK critically, consider the long term effects prior to use. You don't need a book to curse someone, really. We use our minds and our words to do that every day often quite carelessly. Reading and not using this book should make one more aware of how the they think and behave in a daily basis.

Highly recommended
Boy do i love this book! I own a ton of hoodoo books and this one is my go to. The structure of the book is just perfect! In each chapters, Miss Aida talks about her own experiences, lists recipes (Hotfoot Powder etc…) and then onto the spells. It’s very well made, easy to follow. There are tons of spells in there! And even if you don’t let’s say, believe in God ( There’s alot of psalms prayers in there ) she makes it clear to go with anything YOU believe in. She’s not trying to convert anyone on her own beliefs like many other authors in the craft. I’m really hoping for a hardcover copy one day. 5 stars book!
