I also loved the audiobook experience; the dual narration by Tim Page and Carly Robins was excellent and brought so much depth to the characters. For the most part, it follows predictable tropes, but I've read enough that I rarely encounter things that are truly new and so execution matters more and it does this well. A few things make this book work. as it revolves around two people meeting to write a romance novel, the story engages in some pretty clever metafiction here and there. also, o spoilers but there is a reveal in the flashbacks late in the story that despite me being quite jaded with most plots was legitimately surprising and very welcome to what I generally don't get to see. The book is written in past tense, which I prefer and while much of the plot is predictable and follows the formula, it is crafted well and is a delight to read, even for a romance-hater like myself.
