## Overview

The AKG D5 is a professional dynamic vocal microphone engineered for live performances. Featuring a unique laminated Varimotion diaphragm, it delivers crisp, powerful sound that cuts through noisy environments. Its supercardioid polar pattern maximizes gain before feedback, while the dual shock mount minimizes mechanical noise. Built with a durable metal body and balanced XLR output, the D5 ensures reliable, high-quality audio for demanding stage conditions.

## Description

The D5 dynamic microphone delivers a powerful sound even on the noisiest stage. AKG made the first microphone diaphragm ever whose thickness varies across its diameter. The new Laminated Varimotion diaphragm deep-drawing process allows the diaphragm itself to be fine-tuned with no extra tuning resonators, leading to a quantum leap in audio performance. The D5 stands for a crisp sound that cuts through every mix.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: is there a way to plug it into a pc to record it and if there is how would u do it**
A: You will need an audio interface, or a mixer built-in USB/Audio Interface. I would recommend you a Behringer Xenyx Q502USB, this mixer can do the job. And how to record audio? with a simple audio recording program like Audacity.

**Q: Does this require phantom power ? or can this be operated under normal circumstances ? can this replace a shure sm58 directly ?**
A: Because this is a dynamic microphone it does not require phantom power. It could be used as a direct replacement for a sm58

**Q: What kind of chord is needed for this mic to connect to a speaker?**
A: It can't be directly connected to a speaker, it needs to go through a pa system, in which case you would need an XLR (3-prong) chord. If you're talking about one of those block rocker speakers, like the ones they sell at costco, then you would need the female xlr/ to male 1/4 inch chord. I hope this helps.

**Q: can i use xvive u3 wireless xlr on this mic?**
A: Yes I do myself.
