DJControl Inpulse 500

Want to slice up your party life or just want to be a bedroom DJ? This is your go to. Donny research between the DDJ by pioneer, and Numark platinum. Decided to go with Hercules. It’s an amazing controller. Easy to use and has guides for beginners to really learn the ins and outs of DJing. Everything feels sturdy and high quality, pads, buttons and knobs all feel and move well. And on top of that there is tons of ports on the back. Both 3 and 5mm jacks on the back as well. Huge plus. It comes with serato light and also a full version of DJuced. Big great programs, and for learning they really come in handy. The system is not compatible with rekordbox as the pioneer would be, but honestly for a first deck this gets the job beyond done. If in the future you want to upgrade and try to play in clubs, then the standard they use is a pioneer deck. Deck wise it will be easy to figure out as it is similar. The only downside would be learning a new program. But realistically once you have practice with DJuced, I’m sure it won’t be too much of a hassle to swap programs and continue doing your thing. Some other cool features are the foldable legs. Will protect from spilled drinks, and also add some height to the deck while sitting or standing. Pads glow different colours as well and the jog wheels feel heavy and have nice movement to them. Very worth the money, would buy again for sure.

The Hercules DJControl Inpulse 500 is an impressive piece of gear that punches well above its weight class. Whether you're an aspiring DJ looking to level up or a seasoned pro seeking a reliable backup controller, this 2-deck USB unit hits all the right notes. Right out of the box, it feels premium — sturdy metal top plate, full-size jog wheels, and a clean layout that’s both intuitive and performance-ready. The mixer section is particularly well-designed, featuring a 3-band EQ, filters, VU meters, and a hardware mixer for audio inputs. It’s a welcome surprise on a controller at this price point. The compatibility is another huge win. It works seamlessly with both Serato DJ Lite (upgradeable to Pro) and DJUCED, giving you the freedom to experiment with different software ecosystems. The onboard Beatmatch Guide is also incredibly helpful for beginners, making learning the art of manual beatmatching a lot less intimidating. Other standout features include balanced XLR outputs, an auxiliary input with dedicated volume control, and RGB performance pads that let you trigger hot cues, rolls, slicers, and more. The touch-sensitive jog wheels are accurate and smooth, ideal for scratching and tight cue control. Overall, the Inpulse 500 offers a rare combination of high-end features, rock-solid build quality, and beginner-friendly tools — all at a budget-friendly price. Hercules has clearly designed this with growth in mind, making it an excellent long-term investment for DJs at any level. Pros: Solid build quality with a metal faceplate Serato DJ and DJUCED compatibility Balanced XLR outputs Helpful beat-matching aids for learners Professional-grade features at a mid-range price Cons: No standalone mixer functionality without a computer Limited to 2 decks (which may not suit 4-deck users)
