## Questions & Answers

**Q: Sometimes my wife hits me with her pans. Would these hurt less since they are copper?**
A: I hope this was a joke.
If your wife hits you with her pans you have a bigger problem than hurt less or more.
And whoever said copper is a softer metal and will hurt less maybe was hit on the head for real.

**Q: a description of the exact specs?**
A: Bourgeat copper is the best copper cookware available. There are 4 features that make it the best: 1. 2-1/2mm pure red copper sandwiched to 1/10mm of 18/10 Polished stainless, Only Bourgeat polishes their copper on both the inside and outside. A polished interior means less sticking. 2. Drip-proof rims to prevent sauce from running down the side of the pan. 3. Drop-in lids that fit like a glove. 4. Counter balanced cast iron handles with extra heavy rivets. Made of copper, with stainless steel lining. Includes: 1. Casserole 9 1/2'', 5 3/4 qts. #367024 2. Copper lid 9 1/2" #365024 3. Copper sauce pan 7 1/8", 2 5/8 qts. #360018 4. Copper lid 7 1/8" #365018 5. Copper flared saute pan 9 1/2", 2 3/4 qts. #373024 6. Copper lid 9 1/2" #365024 7. Copper Brazier 11", 5 1/4 qts. #374028 8. Copper lid 11" #365028

**Q: You mentioned stainless steel tinned, does that mean these will need to be retinned at some point like the Ruffoni?**
A: Matfer Bourgeat copper cookware is only made with an 18/10 stainless steel interior, I believe you have misread the term "Lining or Lined" as Tinning or Tinned

**Q: Do Matfer Bourgeat stainless steel lined copper (2.5mm) pans with cast iron handles have a protective coating on the iron handles like Mauviel does?**
A: I've had a number of these Bourgeat copper pans for at least 15 years now. I've never treated the handles, but have had no rust at all. Don't dishwasher them & allow them to air dry. It's fairly dry here in Minneapolis, so if you live in humid conditions seasoning the handles might be a good idea.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ None better than Bourgeat
*by S***E on 7 February 2018*

Bourgeat is the very, very best. I also own the 5 piece Mauviel 250c set (and still use it). However Bourgeat is the best. Better than Falk, better than Mauviel. Real professional cooking tools. Improved my cooking in time, quality and taste. Please do not waste your money on any of the 150 series from the other supplier. You also will not appreciate burning your hands with bronze handles. A sole exception - I find my small 8" 150c fry pan useful for saute' of small quantities of mushrooms, bell peppers, shallots for omelettes. It's faster than a 250 for very small amounts of food. Heavy copper is expensive. It is an investment. It is worth it, many times over. I wish I had purchased this stuff when I was 26. $2000.00 averaged over 20 years is $100 a year; over 40 years it's $50 bucks a year. It will last much more than a lifetime, easily several generations. Your grandchildren will thank you, and often.
