Cuisinart Digital Gooseneck Kettle

Heats water quickly, convenient temperature controls +-5 Degrees F for various types of teas, wide mouth easy to clean. Only negative,, steel liner forms scale very easily, so have to rinse out with white vinegar every 2-3 uses, or when I keep water in keetle for extended time for multiple fills. Use this kettle regularly.

Well-designed for looks and function. Boils enough water for a pot of coffee in 2 minutes. The product description is right about the pour (more important for pour-over coffee than for tea): "Precision gooseneck spout designed for precise pour control." Used mine a year and liked it so much I bought another as a gift. When you see people complaining about how expensive it is, note that the price fluctuates wildly. (I'm talking about Amazon/Amazon, not 3rd party sellers.) In the last couple of years, it has been everywhere from MSRP $129.99 down to $49.95. I paid under $60 both times. (Keep your eyes open for the $25.99 coupon that sometimes shows up.) If you read the review from the person who has trouble dealing with the excellent saftey shutoff feature, note that you can avoid their problem by simply leaving some water in the kettle when you're done. Just boil a bit more than you plan to use.

Easy to use, not complicated. Put the kettle on to set temp and start. 5F increments, which is precise enough, and it remembers the last setting. 1 L of water can get a little heavy for slow pours, but the handle is comfortable. Maybe could be a little more weight balanced especially when full of water, but would probably end up heavier and more expensive. Heats quick, gooseneck is easy to control pour. The spout is kinda stuck on the side of the carafe so it's hard to get ALL the water out but it's little enough to still dry with the lid off after. The carafe sides get warm, but the bottom, lid, and handle are cool. Beeps are a little on the loud side, wish there was a low volume setting. There is a little pin inside the bottom, presumably the thermal sensor, just be aware when cleaning.

I have two kettles, an EKG and this one. I got this one for work. It basically does the job, though not as nicely. The good: - It heats the water very fast, I think about as fast as the EKG. - It feels easy to pour. - It's less expensive. The not-as-good: - The temperature can only be controlled in 5° increments. This may seem like a small thing, but at least at my particular altitude, it means I can't actually bring the water to boil; 200° is too low and 205° causes overboiling. And aside from that, if you're getting one of these, you might be someone (like me) who enjoys getting coffee perfectly right. - It turns off too quickly. Sometimes while doing a pour-over I'll hold onto the kettle for a few pours, and during that time the base unit turns off. - The beep when the unit turns on and when it reaches temperature is obnoxious. I'm right there -- no need to yell. :) These aren't huge problems and I wouldn't even call them "complaints" (notice I still gave 4 stars), but I'd probably recommend waiting until the EKG goes on sale and getting that, since it doesn't have any of those issues.

UPDATE: 5/26/22: I hate this thing. I started getting more into home pour-over recently. I was using my girlfriend's basic Hario V60 "Buono" Drip Kettle Electric Gooseneck, but I wanted something with more capacity and with a temperature display and hold feature. So, I looked around a lot. I didn't want to spend more than $100. I see this one is regularly $99, but Amazon has it on discount for $73. After reading mostly positive reviews, I go for it. I wish I hadn't. It's kind of really annoying to use in the morning. You just need to pay attention so much for a simple pour. First off, if you fill the water over the line by 1 friggin' micron you're going to have spill out of the top of the kettle all over, burning yourself. Guess where they put the line markings? On the handle side... The side that faces away from you as you fill it.... To make matters worse, the neck is very vertical on this kettle. You really need to tilt it to pour, so it's always a possibility for leaking even when you're below the fill line. They should have made the spout extended at a less steep angle. Second, you need to put the top back on a very specific way and match up two arrows exactly.... Who wants to be fussing with this type of stuff every time you make coffee?! It make it not fun and a chore. "Be super careful, put the lid on exactly right!" Ugh... The actual functions of the base are fine, but I have a sneaking suspicion the temp isn't really accurate and under 212. In the end, my girlfriend said "oh at least it looks nice" so if you're one of those type that cares more about form over function maybe this is fine. For me, however, I would recommend against buying this product.

Works great. Heats water quickly and keeps it hot afterwards but shuts off automatically. The digital temperatures show current temp and goal temp. Pours easily and accurately. Glad I bought it.

I love this kettle except for one flaw that makes it a real PITA to use. It heats super quickly, remembers the temperature I want, pours nicely, is beautiful, feels well built. However, it will always default to the keep warm setting. This is a huge problem for me because I don't want to leave water in the pot all the time so I only heat enough water for one cup of tea. I press the power button, the water boils, and I pour the water over my tea, and I replace the kettle. But since I haven't drank my tea yet, I commonly forget that I need to turn off the keep warm function in advance or turn off the kettle after pouring. When I forget, the kettle tries to heat its empty self and doesn't stop till you can smell the metal and plastic getting hot, which is scary. It eventually senses the issue, performs emergency shut-down, and requires unplugging and plugging back in to restart (might be automatic if I wait long enough). The designers must have assumed that everyone always heats more water than they'll use and leaves the water in the kettle. That one critical flaw makes the pot not very relaxing for me to use because I'm always afraid I'll forget to turn off the keep warm setting.

This kettle is simply awesome. It is not too big as some other brands. I really like the option to set a temperature as green tea temperature is lower than black tea or coffee. The pour design works flawlessly and the interior is perfect. No taste is added so the water stays as good as it went in. The unit has a 30 minute keep warm function at the selected temperature or you can hit the power and it shuts off immediately. Time will tell on durability but it seems like this will last for years.

Muy buena tetera, me encantó que puede mantener el agua caliente y puedes calentarla a diferentes temperaturas,,se ve muy bien y es fácil de limpiar (secar por dentro), la recomiendo mucho!

I simply love it, it works good, it's fast, it's stylish
