What is False Bottom made of?

It is a lightweight expanded clay aggregate.

What animals can use a false bottom?

False Bottom is ideal for use with any tropical animals that require frequent misting.

Can it be used with other substrates besides ABG?

Yes! ABG is the most common, but it could be used with any tropical substrate.

How many bags do I need?

We recommend roughly one 4qt bag per square foot of floor space. (Click on product images for a chart)

Why can't I use it by itself?

False Bottom is an impaction hazard and an unnatural texture for animals to walk on. Always keep False Bottom separated from animals with a barrier and substrate.
