Review: Simply the best ear plugs I've used... - I protect my hearing because I know that once it's gone I can't get it back. These are intended for hearing protection, not creating a zone of silence, so the person who bought these for student use (and gave them a 3-star rating) probably expected something from them that they simply aren't designed to do. These excel at what they are designed to do. They require no pre-compression prior to insertion into the ear (so they're quick to insert), provide very good protection on their own, are comfortable enough to wear all day, and have a lanyard that'll allow you to let them hang about your neck when removed should you desire to do so. Personally, I give a quick tug and tear the lanyard off, as I don't like that -- which is another selling point for me, in that the lanyard is there for those who want it and also very easily removed for those who do not. I use these when: * mowing * trimming * shooting * working heavily with air tools such as impact wrenches, air hammers, and the like The box is wall-mountable and has instructions that'll help you properly place the screws on the wall should you wish to do so. I did this, and when I reorder these, I'll be putting the new box in the same place as the old one ... which is nice as I don't need to depend on the old box holding up for years; the entire solution is disposable.
Review: These with Frieq earmuffs are the cloest to being soundproof that I've found - I doubt if anyone appreciates silence more than I do. I read. I watch good cinema. (And I walk about 5 miles a day.) And I want a QUIET living space. I've tried a good number of earmuffs and earplugs. These are without a doubt the very best earplugs I have experienced. The best earmuffs I've experiences are these: FRiEQ 37 dB NRR Sound Technology Safety Ear Muffs with LRPu Foam for Shooting, Music & Yard Work, Green FRiEQ The two are easily used simultaneously. And that is the closest I have come to attaining truly soundproof head gear. Of course it's not truly soundproof. Nothing is. But this combination is the best I have found. Two qualifications: (1) Be sure to follow the instructions for insertion of the earplugs. (2) The Frieq earmuffs are certainly tight. I have become accustomed to the pain, but I certainly would not assume that everyone else can do so. (I am 6 feet 2 inches tall with a relatively narrow head.)

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Plug
*by D***H on October 1, 2026*

The Push-in 3M Ear Plugs with cord are great to use when your hands and finger are dirty because you don't need to roll the foam into a smaller diameter before inserting them into your ear. I find that they are faster to use in comparison to simpler cylindrical foam ear plugs. In addition, the cord is also a convenient feature to use when you are on a job that requires putting them in and out. One slight drawback is that they are generally rated at a lower dB reduction to many cylindrical foam ear plugs.
