It is very very easy to place and remove the iPad from this keyboard. The backlit keys do get bright enough. The magnet is definitely strong enough too. The trackpad is very smooth! I had a keyboard case from ESR, and the trackpad felt very delayed and laggy. This one works just like a laptop! My only complaints are that the keys are kind of tight. I feel like there isn’t much key space. Also the ipad sticks out a little so sometimes when you want to quickly type a number you might accidentally hit the iPad. My last complaint is that to change the backlit key brightness, you have to dig deep into settings to adjust the keyboard brightness.
