Once known for making this tawas, the art form is slowly dying with the introduction of non-stick cookware. We bring you these products directly from these artisans who have been making them for generations. Completely hand-made and pre-treated for immediate use in the gas burner. We have two variants: Medium and Large size Kallu- Both recommended for making Dosas, Chapattis, Parathas, Adai, Akki Roti, etc. The Large Kallu is recommended for large families to make as many dosas as possible without overheating the Tawa. Though there was no instructions for seasoning, I could season by heating the pan until it slightly smoked with a thick layer of corn oil( do not season with coconut oil). Then I wiped the excess oil and stored the pan without washing. While using for the first time, do not wash again, make a dosa out of old/new batter and dispose the first dosa.. Mine worked perfect!!! Also the tawa is 12" with handle it is 14".
