Review: Nice upgrade from Elan Z630 - I'm replacing an older Elan Z630 pre-amp, which I was controlling via a Harmony IR device and two Via 64's. A rat's nest of wiring behind the console, random dropped connections between the app and the Harmony device, or the IR transmitters not quite lined up with the VIA receivers... very frustrating experience. I installed the SRT4 last night and could not WAIT to remove the Elan devices. Easy and (so far) reliable setup with the OSD app, plus I can stream desertcart or Spotify (requires a premium account unless you're streaming from a computer plugged in to Line In). I chose to use the wired means of connecting to my router rather than Wi-Fi and would recommend this route if you have the choice. I agree with the external reviews RE the analog output -- on my system it was a little dull or muddy. Not terrible, but certainly improved with the use of two digital-to-analog converters ($15 each on desertcart), which are plugged in to the Optical outputs. However, I took off 1 star because pandora wasn’t there, and the app would not work over in-bound vpn even though the other OSD app does work on inbound vpn. The OSD Player apps wants you to be on WiFi but when you vpn into your home from Wiregard app don’t use WiFi. The OSD Max12 app doesn’t care about WiFi so it just works. You do need to have accounts in the streamers apps. I created Amazon, Tidal, Spotify, and Tune-In accounts. I can stream Pandora (anything else over Airplay) which works fine. However, when you stream over you phone it limits what you can do with the phone and runs down battery. You can created favorites and presets. I still don’t understand the “inputs” on each of the 4 Zones, but I did figure out the global inputs.
