Made of soft yet firm rubber. Not like silicone. The rubber ring was a little difficult to stretch and get around my first stage but at least I know it is solid and won't slide off. Seals the first stage much better than Factory. And doesn't have that Hollow void that can hold water droplets.

Great for DIN to Yoke converter
This is great, I used for a DIN regulator with a yoke converter, I placed the ring below the DIN tightening ring and when the Yoke adaptor is installed fits perfectly, and if the yoke adapter is not in use this piece holds it to the DIN first stage base.

Helps to minimize the chance of water retained in the depression entering the first stage.
Really easy to dry out the side that faces the inlet after a dive.Removed one star because the retaining ring is too small to go over the body of my ScubaPro MK 25 1st stage, and trying to put it on the tank retention screw doesn't allow the screw to tighten down far enough due to the thick rubber interfering. I ended up zip-tying it to the side of the yoke which worked fine.

Easy replacement
Just take out the yoke screw and slide this over the screw. Good to go again.
