It evaporates quickly. Once evaporated, the mild solvent smell (which isn't bad) is gone. AND unlike Goo-Gone, it will not get rancid over time. Goo Gone leaves a smelly mess. In-Du doesn't. Great stuff. **Q: I stick labels on my winebottles. Some come off easily, but on some bottles it is very hard to scrape the label off. Will this work on stuck labels?** A: I've used Un-Du for years, and usually, something has to be used to help lift the label. When labels are difficult I reach in my pocket and use one of my guitar picks. They type I use had the perfect edge. Or use the scraper that comes on the bottle. **Q: Is it safe on skin to remove adhesives** A: un-du is a Petroleum Distillate which when used can come into contact with the skin. When un-du does touches the skin the area will temporarily remove any skin oils from that area temporarily but once you rub the skin where un-du came into contact with the skin will replace the skin oil that un-du removed. un-du comes out with a controlled ID dropper that releases un-du in drops because you do not need a lot of un-du to safely remove all self sticking adhesives. So un-du will "on contact" with the skin rob from that area's natural skin. I usually rub the area replacing the skin's oil/moisture that un-du temporarily remove the skin area. All I know, is it's GOT to be made with some kind of magic or wizardry... that's the only way I can explain it. I used to work as a library technician and this is the ONLY product we would use to get stickers or anything sticky off books. I personally use it to remove labels and stickers off of DVD and Blu-Ray cases. And after all these years, I am still mystified how it could possibly work so good! If there's a sticker on the page of a book, you put a few drops of the liquid at the edge of the sticker to loosen it up. Then keep applying drops as you use the applicator to remove the sticker; applying the liquid throughout the process. The page will look like it's got a bunch of liquid on it. Wait... doesn't liquid ruin a book? Yes. But not this. You could pour a half bottle of this stuff on a page of a book. Wipe it down, blow on it... and like magic, it's gone. I can't explain it! There is zero residue. Zero markings. Zero damage. I can't think of another liquid in the world that doesn't leave a mark or some kind of damage on paper. Craziest thing of all? By some mystical properties, the sticker you just removed STAYS STICKY!! Yes. You can reapply the sticker to anything you want. Other products are just an adhesive remover. Sticker is worthless after you use them (not to mention your paper will have a gigantic grease spot where the liquid poured out). Not this stuff. It is crazy. The price point is high, but it's worth every penny (those Elven tears are expensive)!
