LA VOCEmeans "the voice." One listen to this collection of passionate and heartfelt songs, and it is clear that Canadian vocal sensation, Mark Masri, has been blessed with one of the great voices of our time. His virtuosic instrument soars effortlessly through Italian classics such as CARUSO, BUONGIORNO PRINCIPESSA and LA PRIMA VOLTA. His soulful interpretations of such ballads as TRULY and FIX YOU, which glide over romantic orchestral treatments, create a new benchmark in elegance and sincerity. But beyond the voice of the singer, LA VOCE is also the voice of a gifted writer. Masri's own compositions are finely crafted, personal works. TIME, a stunning duet with acclaimed American singer, Nita Whitaker, is a moving exploration of the fragility of life and the power of love. I OWE YOU is a simple letter of gratitude that could serve as an artful tribute to any mentor in one's life. A SONG CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE is a compassionate message of hope. Another original, A MOTHER'S LOVE, was composed by EMI recording artist Amy Sky. In 2009, this beautiful collaboration with chart topping American pianist, Jim Brickman, was the soundtrack to a best-selling American Greetings Mother's Day E-card. The song will also be featured in a national Mother's Day campaign in 2010. The initial focus track, HOLD ON, to be released to radio in January 2010, was produced by Los Angeles based recording ace Jochem van der Saag (Josh Groban, Seal, Michael Bublé, Celine Dion). To round out this collection of international, orchestral pop, Masri sings in French (JE T'ATTENDRAI, a reworking of his hit song, THE FACE), Spanish (FRAGILIDAD, a collaboration with Latin superstar, Jon Secada, and Mediterranean guitarist, Pavlo, on Sting's FRAGILE), Hebrew and Arabic (EREV SHEL SHOSHANIM, a duet with Masri's co-producer, Amy Sky). Compulsively listenable, this timeless recording will appeal to fans of all ages. LA VOCE is a desert island disc for music lovers who seek gorgeous melodies and meaningful words, delivered by a breathtaking voice.

Beautiful
I had never heard of Mark Masri, but the bookstore was playing La Voce and I immediately bought the CD. Masri's voice is gorgeous and the music is beautiful. However, the CD loses a star in my book because the schmaltz factor needs to be ratcheded down about 100 notches. In fact, I like it better when he sings in a language other than English because the lyrics are so sappy that you will need a supply of insulin to listen to the CD in one sitting. That being said, it is lovely to hear a CD that doesn't make you want to run for the earplugs. I'll take sappy and beautiful any time.

This young man has one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard
Incredible CD! This young man has one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard, and he sings with such passion. The choice of his songs is also wonderful. I listen to it constantly. When will he be performing in our area? Can't wait to hear more from and about him.

La Voce was a surprizing find
I was in a gift shop when I heard Mark Masri singing over their speaker system. I have always enjoyed the Four Tenors and then Il Divo and I think Mark Masri goes right along with that style of music except some of my up to date favorites too he includes also. I was happy to be able to purchase one of this C.D.'s.

Mark Masri's La Voce
Mark doesn't sing opera. He sings the genre of classical crossover and it is music that goes straight to the heart. Classical crossover appeals to a larger audience than opera in it's purist form. Mark's voice and his interpretation of the music is quite amazing. I love this CD and I am eagerly waiting my advanced order of Mark's next CD and his PBS special.

This cd is perfect. Not only because the music selection but also because the masculine and romantic voice of the singer. The cd crates an environment itself. Just invite some friends for a cup of wine and let the music play. Hummmm.

Wow!
Beautiful, impressive vocal skills, Mark Masri has hit the ball out of the park with this one. If you enjoy the vocal styles of Josh Groban and Andrea Bocelli, you should enjoy Mark Masri.

This man can REALLY SING!
I read an article about Mark Masri in the Toronto Star a few weeks ago and decided to check out his website and then watch some of his youtube performances. This man can really sing, and is destined to become the new Josh Groban. He has a gorgeous voice and can sing in numerous languages. His perfect pitch, smouldering matinee-idol looks and beautiful tonality make him a pleasure to listen to and watch. I can't wait for his next CD!!

such a talent
I bought this album for myself a few years ago and now I have bought one for a work colleague. This is such a wonderful album. The first song gives me goodbumps. The songs he has chosen are perfect for his voice and the arrangements suit his style and voice perfectly. I also have his next album "Intimo". I can't wait for another to be released.
