No-one does it better at telling a story th ban Nora. I loved the series. Can't wait to read more.

The Perfect Hope is the third and final installment in Nora Roberts' The Inn BoonsBoro trilogy. A trilogy about three brothers raised in Boonsboro Maryland, working in the family business and the women they love. This is a heartwarming and wonderful series and as in all of Nora's books, wonderfully crafted characters. In this book we find Ryder and Hope, as this is a trilogy we of course expect this relationship it's not a surprise but watching the two of them come together was a wonderful treat. Ryder, grab your Websters look up strong silent type and look at the picture. I am sure there is one of Ryder right there. A gorgeous man, a working man.. a man with a tool belt and I am so not talking Tim Allen here. This is a man who loves his family.. His respect and admiration for his mother is a beautiful thing, his relationship with his brothers, yeah people we all want to see this type of relationship in our lives. Add that to his strong sexiness and you have a man of serious appeal. Hope Beaumont, city girl, elegant, classy and she has a shoe closet to die for. When her life was upturned by her smeazy boyfriend, she was offered a position to manage the Inn in the town of her college best friend. As far as Hope is concerned it's a win win situation. She isn't looking for romance just a chance to start over and the Inn is a fantastic option, getting in at the ground level is something of a dream come true. Sounds wonderful doesn't it? and it is.. there are just a few things that bother me. Nora Roberts has told this story before, well sort of. The arc that ties these three books together is the family is renovating an Inn and find a ghost on the premises. A ghost looking for her lost love.. and together they start a search to find him and this bothered me because it had strains of Rafe MacKade and the Brothers MacKade series.. Civil War era building, sadly ignored, someone determined to turn it into an Inn (or bed and breakfast) a ghost roaming the house missing her lost love and the gang all gets together to find him for her. It isn't like Nora to repeat herself this way. And yet... maybe this is a subject near and dear to her heart, maybe she has intertwined pieces of herself deeply into these two stories. She is after all a mother of sons, she does live in Boonsboro, MD so living with Civil War era buildings, stories and yes probably ghosts is not unthinkable. So maybe she is writing what she knows.. yes this is conjecture, my thoughts on this book. With all the discussions I have had on this book, I seem to be the only one drawing this correlation. Maybe it's because I have been a die hard NR fan since 1981sh and I read Irish Thoroughbred.. or maybe because I fell hook line and sinker for Rafe MacKade.. but to me the similarities abound.. With all that being said, this was an absolutely FANTASTIC book. Hope and Ryder were amazing characters and there were some scenes that made me laugh, some that made me swoon and yes some that made me cry. Watching how these two strong individuals allowed their shields to drop, finding their way to each other. These are not two broken characters, scared from a bad childhood, life, whatever. Nope these two are real.. yes they have history, they are functioning adults in today's society, if they didn't have pasts they would be boring. But they connect in ways that few characters ever do. They give us Hope that we can be ourselves and still find love. That is one of the best things about Nora Roberts, the woman writes strong women. Flawed ones, ones rising from the ashes, nice ones, sarcastic ones, human ones. Her women have integrity and a bone deep ability to be true to self and Hope is one of the best. There are some scenes that will eventually wind up in the swoonroom, I promise but for now allow me to describe a couple.. Hope having just been accosted by her smeazy ex walks into the middle of the street does a grab and yank on Ryder and whispers go with me.. right before she lays one on him.. yep right smack dab in the middle of small town America.. imagine the phone lines *grins*. I enjoyed this, the last book in the Boonsboro Trilogy. We finally get the opportunity to see all of the Montgomery boys coupled and happy. Ryder has been fighting his attraction to their dedicated innkeeper Hope since she arrived at the Inn. Initially Hope viewed him as surly and unkind, but the more she gets to know him, the more she is convinced that there is more than meets the eye. Not to mention she thinks that they can have a physical relationship without all the nasty entanglements (I guess she didn't learn anything from Avery and Owen) and both come out unscathed. But you have to remember that Hope came to Boonsboro (Maryland's Blue Ridge Mountains) to lick her wounds and mend her broken-heart from her last love Jonathan, who committed the ultimate betrayal. And the last thing anyone expects from Ryder, who has been known to "love `em and leave `em", is to fall for someone like Hope and consider settling down. While the two come together as only Nora can have them, we see a mired of other storylines evolving or concluding. The mystery of who Billy (the ghost's lover) really is and why Lizzie hasn't transcended (for lack of a better word) but instead haunts the Inn leaving a smell of honeysuckle in her wake, is FINALLY revealed. What I always enjoy when reading a Nora Robert's novel is her ability to weave an entertaining tale with just the right amount of romance and suspense. Once you finish one, you find yourself smiling because you can imagine the characters happily ever-after. At the end of The Perfect Hope, I could see Clara and Beckett with their ever growing family (tons of kids and pups) thriving....Clara running her bookstore, with Beckett being her rock. You know Avery and Owen will be married...she running her successful business while he keeps spreadsheets and lists; AND then there is the very poised and extremely organized Hope with grumpy and devilishly-sly Ryder starting a family and having years of happiness (even though he gives her a list of things he isn't going to do)......while the Inn blooms and grows. And we mustn't forget Justine and Avery's father who proved you are never too old to find love and companionship. Overall, while this is a typical and not too original book by Nora, it was a pleasure to read. I recommend it to Nora lovers. I can't wait to read the next one.

Perfect book filled with family, hope, and joy. All of Nora Roberts’ books are such a pleasure to read. They make me smile.

A good summer read. The characters came to life and I enjoyed reading about them. You will enjoy them. Excellent

The writing is more comfortable and shows off much more of the author’s considerable talents than I thought the second book did. This marvelous third installment makes the repetitive, slightly sleepy language of the second installment well worth the wait, as the second installment is vital to the story. But this crowning piece in the trilogy heightens all the elements, makes the characters more realistic, and makes the resolution seem slightly more unlikely therefore deeply satisfying, poignant, and beautiful. This comes together with a deeply satisfying glow of family, history, deep bonds of friendship, and the ways in which metaphysical awakening can truly be part of destiny and true fulfillment.

It's not War and Peace, people. It's Nora Roberts for god's sake!! Lighten up. You don't read Nora Roberts for the plot, you read it for the romance, and romance rarely makes much sense, does it? :-p Besides, neither of the other 2 books had much of a plot either. Seriously, I enjoyed this book way more than the other 2 strictly because I found the other 2 brothers a little, well, boring to be honest. Sure, they're all hot, and smart, and handy, and funny, and thoughtful in their own way, but Ryder is the one who would push my buttons. Probably a bit of that bad boy thing, but also, I appreciate the fact that he doesn't BS with people. He says what he means and does what he says, and if he doesn't want to waste his time with you, he let's you know it! I thought it was endearing, the way he was so clueless when it came to certain "women things", but still gave it all the effort in the world to make the relationship work, and once he knew how he felt, that was it, game over for him with no doubts or worries. I looked forward to this book from the minute he and Hope met because you KNEW their story would be the last. The classic "dislike-at-first-site/opposites-attract" hook, which I am a sucker for. Therefore, I liked the fact that this book was so wrapped up in the day to day lives of the characters and how those things fit into the building of the relationship. For me, the ghost story was just a bonus, but I have to say, I felt like the resolution of Lizzy's problem wasn't clear to me. It was just sort of "poof, problem solved".

What an end to the series absolutely brilliant. Loved everything in this book and wish I had brothers like that. Great read highly recommend

This is the last book in the Boonsboro trilogy . Principally this is the story of Ryder and Hope but all characters from previous books play a major role in this one It is always nice to continue the story of well liked characters. As ever with Ms Roberts the characterisations are very very good. Children are excellently portrayed and even the dogs and the Inn itself seem to personalities.I,d like to live there and certainly stay at the Inn. The plot is predictable but pleasant to read. The sweetness of the romance is balanced by the doses of vinegar particularly from Ryder but from other sources too. There is laugh out loud moments of humour. Of course Lizzie the ghost plays a prominent role but can they find her Billie for her? Not usually a fan of supernatural but this is dealt with so beautifully and integrated so well into the plot that it is good to read. This has been an excellent trilogy. I have enjoyed all three books and Ms Roberts held my interest throughout.
