Cat Harness and Leash Set Escape Proof, Polka Dot Black, XL

Bought a camo XL for my male Ragdoll cat. Not used on any tactical missions so far but nice to know it’s ready when he is. Needed a solution to save his pride after scratching himself a bald spot right between his shoulder blades in less than three hours! Overnight delivery was absolutely needed to prevent further scratching and hair loss. Had to spend every moment with him to help him not scratch. Picked up a one application tube of Revolution from vet for suspected dust mites. He did not have fleas and is indoor only. Revolution knocked out the critters immediately. My boy took to the vest right away with no fussing or distress. The adjustable neck kept the vest in place with room for comfortable movement and rest and no back outs. The feeling of being held/embraced by the vest had a very calming effect on my little guy. His face said it all. He loved it and especially appreciated getting his back rubbed on top of the vest. Vet warned his fur might not grow back in the bald spot and we’re glad that has not been the case. Beautiful new fur growth looks fantastic and we’re so relieved he isn’t being chomped on by mites. So my dear sweet boy gets to keep his gorgeous seal point suit with white trousers and all of his fur. The vest helped him and us through this stressful event and he’s doing well and looking great. And now has an outfit he can wear to impress his friends. Did not use the leash but it is sturdy as is the attachment ring on top of the vest. As a ragdoll cat, he is indoors only, as is his half sister. The breed is so gentle and trusting, they will go with anybody. These are my kids! The vest is well made, sturdy and strong, yet flexible in the right ways for comfort. And the Camo is so nice. Haven’t added any tactical patches to the vest but there are two places for some if he decides to go full military or hardcore punk or metal on us. Just so relieved he is happy and his sweet unbothered self. 😼🎸🎶🎶🎶🎶🔥

Works great for my 18# floofy cat. Strong Velcro. Secure. Easy to put on. Fur does get a bit in the fastener but still is the best harness we’ve found for him.

First things first, this harness is the perfect fit and while I’m not sure I’d say it escape proof. It’s pretty close. We’ve had this vest about 1 1/2 yrs, and our little man is now finally fitting into this. When people talk about boys being more energetic and demanding, I thought that was only the human ones. He’s been demanding outside time because this fits SO well and lets him move free and easy, only problem with that is he thinks he’s a cheetah now. With that the loop where the harness hooks to the leash ripped and he was off, right up a tree after what I can only say was a huge squirrel that say his life flash in front of his eyes. Over all the harness is a 9.5 but the stitching leaves a lot to be desired, almost lost a kitty to in to the forest. But after all is said and done, it’s an 7-8.. good value just wish it hadn’t ripped, might have to learn to sew🤔

I feel there’s no way for my cat to get out of this as long as the Velcro holds. So far so good and it’s been a couple of weeks. Adjustable to allow for growth of his very hearty “stay at home cat” belly. Got it to train him to walk outside on a harness but honestly use it when we have company because he’s such a cute little sailor

Update: Now using harness on my new kitten, 6 months in attached pix. The cat I bought the harness for passed ;( The pictured leash is very comfortable (comfy enough for 8hr road trip)and I highly recommend. I’ve used it now to train cats of feral and domestic origins. Tips for kittens— wait until kitten is 4 months old before introducing or until belly fur has totally grown back in after spaying. Do not use this harness if your cat’s belly is shaved. You do not want to further irritate an area already irritated. If your cat stresses and starts obsessively licking their shaved belly, consult your vet to discuss treatment plans. After 4-6 months, you’ll have developed a trust with your domestic kitten, and trust is key to training a kitten or adult cat to tolerate a harness and leash. Start off by just letting your kitten/cat get used to wearing the harness around the house. First few times you put it on, they will flip around like a horse wearing a saddle for first time—- that’s normal! Once they are used to wearing it, attach the leash and walk them through your stairwell if you are in apt. building, or just inside the house or garage. Let them lead, this further builds their trust. When they stop, you stop. I even crouch down to their level when they stop. Only after they are comfortable to walking on leash and harness, should owner attempt to lead. Try using a short phrase like, Xena (pet name), come to lead them in owner’s chosen direction. Cats can learn short phrases. My Siamese cat, Sunny, of 19 years knew many short phrases, and learned to walk on a leash from age 6 months. Sunny travelled all over the world, and because she mastered leash walking as a kitten, enjoyed many airport strolls and was comfortable using her mobile litter box on long hauls. She never once flew in cargo. The harness/leash as conflicted as it sounds does offer your domestic pet independence. Kitten pictured on tree was snapped on her first outdoor experience, she’d only been in stairwell, indoor apartment, and car prior. You can see she doesn’t look stressed and is looking at her owner for approval before she inches further up. Good luck! This is a fantastic alternative to a buckle type of harness. I have used this leash both in airports and to walk my cat outdoors. Only once did she slip out and it was my fault for not properly fastening the around the neck velcro. My cat was in a park and saw a dog, she flipped out and started jumping and twisting, she totally pulled a houdini! I get so many compliments on this vest harness when we are travelling, many people want to know where to buy it. In Germany in particular she gets a lot of attention! I would highly recommend this as a safe, non stressful way to contain your cat while travel or outdoors. If your cat has never worn a vest harness before, you should introduce it slowly.. let your pet wear it several times for a few minutes, build up the minutes over several weeks before a trip or going out doors. In terms of tips for walking your cat on a leash, I recommend starting with a fixed leash like this harness comes with and then moving your way up to a retractable leash when your cat is more in control of themselves. Cats naturally want to climb trees, walls, and run free. Start off with the fixed leash and don't try to control the direction, let your cat lead. When your cat is fully used to the harness/leash, you can slowly try to get control. You have to be very patient and have a strong bond with your cat. I'd think if your cat likes you enough to come to you when called, they are a good candidate for leash walking. If your cat is super independent and won't even come when you call, probably not the type of cat that will take to a harness and leash. Good luck!

This leash worked well for a friend of ours but not us. I will say it is well made. It took us 4 days just to get it on our cat figuring he could walk around the house with it and get used to wearing it. As soon as as my wife put it on him he ran into his play tunnel where we heard a lot kicking, scratching, and I think some cursing. He came out of the other end of his tunnel without the leash on, gave us the claw and walked away. So much for escape proof! We call him Sir Clawsalot but now we call him Houdini! So we had to return it as it was’t worth the aggravation.

I need to transport my 2 felines about 2 hours north of me to our new home. I decided that they would each have a car seat and then I needed harnesses. The 1st one that I bought I put on my very large one and flopped around like a fish. It scared me and that was it with that one. I then bought 2 of these and both of my cats are calmed by them (never thought that was possible!) and they wear them around for a while every day to get them used to the feeling. These are honestly wonderful, well made, super easy to put on them and great to have for 4th of July noises too.

Update: Having a huge problem with this item. My cat got out of it without the velcro even opening. Clearly he slid out of it when he wanted to. I was trying to get the little bit of cat hair off it a few areas, I noticed after only 2 very brief 5 minutes wearing that the velcro has somewhat shredded the clinging part. Plus then too I used a Clorox wipe to gently remove slight cat fur plus to sanitize it,so I could return it, but now this velcro strap area is crazy ruined with tiny bits of the wipe material. Seller had said to remove all cat hair from item if returning. I purchased a pink one too for my girl cat but I do not think these are secure enough. The pink one is unopened and I will turn it but this one I do not know what to do with. My cats are 14.5 lbs ,the boy,and about 11 lbs ,the sister girl. I am sad i cannot take them out onto my deck with me safely,and I have no idea what I can do so they can have fresh air. This was too bad it did not work. The boy cat slid right out of it when he wanted to. I loved it. I put it on my male kitty. He seemed ok with it and walked around fine. Then I took it off him. Later i found him lying on it,sleeping. Seemed like he liked it. So today I put it on him,with the leash and let him walk around a bit. His sister appeared and looked very horrified. She followed him. They went into the other room. I thought she might be wanting to play with the leash. A short while later I went into my other room and there on the bed was the vest still closed with the velcro and with the leash attached. And next to it the sister kitty was lying, looking at me, then absolutely glaring at me. I took up the vest. I couldn't see my boy cat anywhere. His sister gave me a very dirty look and left the room. I should return this item. But it looks terribly complicated to do so. I had ordered the pink polka dot harness for my girl cat, and it is due to arrive in a few days. I am so disappointed. I had hoped we could go outside or at least on the deck together. They have no front claws(their first owners did this to them,which I disapprove of very much)and so they must be indoors kitties but they long to go out a bit with me......I am sad and disappointed. The seller makes it ridiculously hard to try to do returns.

It is everything we were looking for. We tried the over the head harness and kitty was not going to let us even try...but with this, it was soooo easy, it looks comfortable, she adjusted to it within seconds, loves wearing it to go outside and roll in the grass, and it's sooooo cute! It fit her a little big (size small), but with the velcro it's easy to adjust to size...and no escape issues, make sure you put it on snug! Can't wait to purchase more...we looooove it...thank you! Uodate: Since my last review, I have purchased the blue and white sailor harness in a size Large since our little kitty is almost fully grown to her adult size. The harness is adorable and she looks soooo cute in it, the velcro fir thus size is not as long, wide or strong as my first purchase of the small pink lace harness. This one does have a couple of snap closures around the neck and the belly and it helps keeping our kitty secure. It also came with a matching blue and white stripped leash that adds to the cutness. And once again,no escape issues! Thank you and yes, this is our go to place for our kitties harness shopping 😊

I am delighted with this product. Its superior to any harnesses I have ever tried. I have had it for a while now and unbelievably my 5 month kitten has failed to escape from it to date. I have tried other harnesses and our other kitten was out of them very easily. This design is totally different and successful.

I will NEVER be using a buckle harness again oh my god, this one is so easy! I used to have to trap my lil guy with my legs, and wrestle with him to clip both buckles, being very careful not to pinch. This one I just throw it over his back and it's done in 2 secs. The material feels great and super adjustable for size. He even stands still and lets me put it on and off now, which he wouldn't ever do before. Def reccomend, but be aware the velcro sound is loud, so if your cats are scared of that, be mindful. My guy doesn't mind thankfully, and he's pretty skittish.
